It's been a mixed day for :ie:

Annalise Murphy, a sailor, won both her Laser Radical races today. She's won all 4 (out of 10) so far and already looks on a great position to get gold (and our first medal in sailing for over 30 years)

Chloe Magee lost against one of the top badminton players in the world, but she managed to put up a good fight and even won a set :)

In equestrian events, the Ireland team came 5th overall (just 2 places off a medal :() and in individual events, Aoife Clark cam e 7th overall.

I was just speechless watching it. I dont follow sailing at all, but even I could see she just destroyed the competiton. Still, there's 6 races left and then the medal race, and if there's one thing Irish people are good at, it's failure, so well have to wait and see what happens :D

:hr: is still waiting for first medal :(

some of our hopes didn't make it but we are still waiting for some big events and names: discus throw (W), H2Opolo (M) and ofc, the most interesting one in our country, handball (M), where we have 2 gold medals from previous games (and this is our 6th participation) and 8 medals (various) from world and european championships xcheer

It was obvious in the eliminations that he was not ready for the olympics. It seems he did not prepare very well for 4 years...

Well done Sweden!!! xclap The first medal is always special! :D
Well, we missed out of two "sure" medals already. Sarah Sjöström and Emma Johansson didn't deliver as they were "supposed" to. :( But that's the fun with Olympics, someone else is uberhappy! :)

Finally  I think equestrian sports is very popular in Sweden right ?
It is huge in Sweden. :)
