As I feared, Ladybug's performance just didn't bring the staging I'd hoped and for most of it, she looked vaguely terrified! Shame, cos the song is still such a mood for me...

Haven't watched any other performances yet, so will dive in later. Lighter was probably the middle of the pack here based on studio cuts, so let's see if the live has hooked me more.

Kyle is a good kid, but the song isn't really my favorite sadly. Seen and heard it before a 100 times. But I hope the fans treat him well. He is only 19 after all hred :5:

He is very likeable, the song is decent and vocals are good. Still not a wow package but decent enough. 7 points.

It's not unbearably dumb like Tommy Trash, and he didn't try to add all possible Eurovision cliches (well, he added 4) at once like Justyna. So I'll give him more than 0 and 2 pts respectively. A solid :6:

Wow! My favourite won?!? I didn't see this coming. It was the only song in this line-up I actually enjoyed. The song is a 7/10 but I can't wait to see the performance when Lithuania is over.

I really thought that Bobbysocks would make it Oo

Tumblr, mostly.
It's a five, like whatever. The juries downvoting Ladybug who was EASILY the best on the night.... idiots. Ban straight people from life, so humanity can die out, and the bonobos can take over. It would definitely trust a bonobo more with casting jury votes than I would whatever the lowlifes on that jury were.

:5: points.

Didn't really care for the studio cut but the performance was quite good. Just the right amount of cheese.

The most obvious won, and even though the lyrics & song have the "made in a ESC song camp" written all over, at least only one Swede is involved in the songwriting! And frankly, Kyle A. seems like a sweet guy. I'm OK with the result - it's not like there was a lot of great stuff to choose from.
Also, super happy that Bobbysocks got such a great ranking, they deserved it!

One thing about , they will never send anything boring.

I like Lighter, it's fun to listen and watch. Kyle needs to improve his vocals though, or I don't know he sounded like that because he was excited? Anyways, I like it.

The Norwegian national final, Melodi Grand Prix 2025 Final, finished about half an hour ago. The winner is Kyle Alessandro - "Lighter", with a combined score of 307 points. In fact, Kyle Alessandro won the international jury vote with 118 points, and the public vote with 189 points. At least that’s a consistent winner in both halves of the voting, and overall. This result is hardly surprising, that entry was the favourite to win. So, Kyle Alessandro will represent Norway with the song "Lighter" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel in May. Norway is drawn to perform in the second half of the First Semi-Final on Tuesday 13 May 2025. I won’t be able to vote that evening, as the United Kingdom doesn’t vote that evening. Good luck to Kyle Alessandro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 First Semi-Final, and in the Grand Final if he gets there.

Well done to the other eight finalists who took part tonight, no matter what their scores, and where they placed, in both halves of the voting and overall.

So, my countrymen have yet again chosen the wrong winner in my view. They did it last year and now again this year.

Kyle's song is ok but everything is average about this entry in my opinion. Ok melody (but a bit 'generic modern'), ok vocals (but not great), ok performance, ok costume (but a bit pretentious). But nothing special in my view.

My favourites were Nataleen (yes, the song sounds a bit similar to other songs but which song does not do so these days? Best entry imo!) and Tone Damli (killer chorus, how it ended so low I don't understand). I also enjoyed Wig Wam though they were killed by the juries.

Not the best MGP I have seen but not as bad as some claim. I enjoyed several songs here better than some winners from other countries.

Best of luck in May, Kyle!

Girl what? He was clear fave for the bookies
I simply don't believe in the concept of humanity xD 😆
It was the only usable entry for May but ot seems that that Alexandra copy and Bobbysocks were the clear frontrunners on this forum and other ESC groups.

Alexandra copy? That game song, where she sang she's in the race, while she didn't even move her ass two steps forward or had any choreo at all?

Yeah. Sometimes it's all nuts xD

Anyway
:7: for now... I get the Tooji comparisons somehow but "Lighter" is above it, imo. I lik the medieval instruments mixed into the song.
