Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

Not sure I told you, but I really like your teeth
That hairy coat of yours with nothing underneath
Not sure you have a name, so I will call you Keith
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
See where you're going, but I don’t know where you've been
Is that saliva or blood drippin' off your chin?
If you don’t like the name Keith I'ma call you Jim
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wolf (Banana)

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Banana

I like the scent of every meal on your breath
That hunger in you, I'm in danger now, I guess
Let's go to grandma's, you say grandma tastes the best
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
(I want your grandma, yum, yum)
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wolf
Someone give that wolf a banana

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana

Ba-na-na
Ba-na-na-na-na
Ba-na-na
Ba-na-na-na-na

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
(I want your grandma, yum, yum)
Someone give that wolf a banana
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wo-o-olf

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana

Not sure I told you, but I really like your teeth
That hairy coat of yours with nothing underneath
Not sure you have a name, so I will call you Keith

Well, I waited a few days so as not to be an NF after-party pooper. Forgive me in advance as I know many of you love it.

I'm still waiting for the punchline with this song. A lot of people seem to have gotten it but it was never delivered my way. What's amusing here? I find it actually hard to think of a less entertaining novelty (known to some as joke) entry from over the past few years. There's been many. I often welcome them and have worshipped at the shrines of a fair few. Very much not the case with this one. Dancing Lasha Tumbai for instance worked as it was chaotic and a "WTF is going on" song + performance. This Norwegian entry has none of that. There's no surprises. It's meticulously polished to the point where it's sterile and thus comes off forced.

What would really help here is if Give That Wolf A Banana wasn't the most bland, uninspiring EDM track imaginable. That's any fun with the costumes I might have had ruined from the get go as they're Dolly Style-ing it with the composition. I just don't like the song. I guess I'm really not the target audience here but will have to accept that this is going to do extremely well. I would say I'm twenty six years late for Give That Wolf A Banana but I think even little five year old Rainy demanded juicier pop. Give people a meme and they'll take it served on a dry cracker it seems.

:3: points.

I don't think it's funny or particularly witty lol xheart

I like the song itself though. It's fun party soundtrack. The shitty meme I could live without.
I like the song, the melody but the staging gets in the way of the song. I might like the song if I dont pay much attention and can have my "active mind' sleeping. As soon as I am aware of the lyrics and the whole mess my mind starts putting images in my head: 💩💩💩💩💩

I gave this :10:. It's very catchy, it soon got stuck in my head and it makes me wanna learn that weird choreography  It's the typical viral song: not necessarily outstanding from a musical point of view but very easy to remember.

And there's also a 'mating ritual' version  Now I'm not sure what they actually mean with 'give that wolf a banana' ehem :ROFLMAO:

The final was the least successful final show since 2014 (regarding viewing figures).
Apparently, the Norwegian broadcaster think that it´s because "one can´t break the record every time" instead of choosing songs like "Queen Bees" or "Wonder of the World" as direct finalists :D

737 k viewers does not seem bad to me as the population of Norway is only ~5.3 millions which is less than that of Finland for instance. Proportionally the show has a better viewership than any German NF had in recent years I reckon.

Why being 'unlike anything else' is a positive feature?.
When you say of a song 'it is musically interesting' it is because you dont like it.
It is a very good thing at the Eurovision as being very much 'unlike anything else' means that it won't blend in and become forgotten in the bunch of many songs like for instance :pl: 2018, :ch: 2013, :ch: 2016, :de: 2017, :mt: 2015, the list can go on.

Are you out of touch with Eurovision?

Still, the lowest viewing figures since 2014.
I agree with you that these numbers are not bad but maybe the Norwegian broadcaster should fix some factors to not make it decline any further.

Oh.. Germany can only dream to have an entry like "Queen Bee" in their national final. At least, it´s not bland and beige.

Somebody told me to listen to this as it sounds like that What Does The Fox Say? song, but thank god it does not sound like one of the absolute worst songs is human history. Norway will have to pay for that one day...
Now this does have some parts that are instantly catchy, but also sounds quite bad in some other parts. Still undecided on how to rate.

There are enough hints it could be the Ylvis brothers so I wouldn’t rule it out but tbh if they‘re ever gonna release the mystery, please let it be after the final. I actually don’t want to know right now who it is.

I,m from Norway and 737 k is horrible number. Most year we have 1 million and MGP in Norway is one of the most popular show in Norway. Is like Melodifestivalen would only have 1 million.

The problem this year is that we have 5 round before final and not many artist people know. Last year we had TIX and Keiino.

Hopefully NRK will change something next year. Because this year NRK had too many program

I do like myself a good joke entry, and this is... a decent-enough one?

It somehow feels overproduced (too calculating?) and underproduced (not epic enough?) at the same time, and the live performance seems lacking both vocally and in terms of staging. I want this kind of song to really go all-out in its staging, yet in the NF performance the bridge section in particular feels like a lot of wasted potential.

But despite that, it's fun, catchy, and novel, plus gimmicky enough to get my interest while not being *so* gimmicky as to start irritating me after a few listens. Perhaps this would usually be a 7 from me, but given I'm not a huge fan of this year so far I want to be a little kinder; let's go with a low 8 for now. Might downgrade it later if I get some proper quality entries to enjoy over the coming month

Just because I love some joke novelty entries I must love anything in that line?

Perhaps it comes accross to me as too planned, pretentious and forced. It reminds me those old fashion shows where producers will turn an "Applause" or "Laugh" light on to the audience to direct their reaction without a room for genuinity or spontaneity, which should be the main ingredient for an entry of this kind.

Elsie was my favourite. Even though this song stands for everything I hate about an entry, but it is so catchy. I am trying to dislike it, but I can't
