What can I say?
I can't make her stay
When I know that she's so far above
How could she ever love someone like me
She's out of reach

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

She's so far out of this world
No way I could ever be with her
'Cause I know heaven's your home
That's where angels belong
And it wouldn't be fair
If I keep you down here

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able
And I need you to know
That it's okay to let me go
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Yeah I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And I'm still not sure
What you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able, so
Just let me go (I'm a, I'm a fallen angel)
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

After the results, all I can say ( again ) is: WELL DONE FOR THE CHOICE NORWAY! xcheerxcheer
This is amazing song and preformance as well! I love it so much!
The english version of the song is really excellent as well as the norwegian one. My No1 and I think that will stay there for a long time!
About the KEiiNO.. I will repeat again, they had chance in 2019. 'Spirit in the sky' was the better song for me than 'Monument'. They changed almost nothing. I don't say that I don't love them or their song. It's totally opposite.
In my opinion, KEiiNO showed us something similar to their song 2019 and it's not something WOW as the 'Spirit in the sky' was. They need some break to think about things and back again with something better.
TIX will do it on the best way for sure and bring Norway in the Grand Final! xheart
About that wings, I like them as well. After all, the song is called 'Fallen Angel'.. so these demons and angel is full hit for me. All things together are really a great package. Styling, voice, performance, song, lyircs - 12 points!

Nobody is attacking him, we are just expressing our honest opinion about the song. He should know how to deal with critiques and realize that outside of norway he is nobody. Well, i stand corrected. The most hated man in the history of eurovision song contest.

I was never on the KEiiNO hype train like most people here. I even like Tix's song more than theirs (although both are a bit lukewarm to me). I'm only disappointed that Jorn didn't win, he would have been a definite 12 pointer for me. Tix gets a 7. :)

Oh don't worry, he will resonate very well with Gen Z and younger Millenials. It's what ESC needs, not another superband camp act.
Hum, I'm really curious what makes you think that ? I'm not only talking about my personal taste, but from what people listen to in general, I don't see how it would appeal more to these gens than KEiiNO ? Both sound a bit dated (even if Monument is more modern than SITS) but at least one managed to make an anthem or some sort out of it.

Well, KEiiNO would have been a 8 or 10 but as we won't have it... I can't see myself giving more than 4 to TiX. I low-key liked the Norwegian version but now it lost the small charisma it had. They're obviously going with this version so we only have to deal with it.
As for the staging, tbh I don't know what to think. I both think it's a work of art and cringe af. i am confusion

I was binging on this song so hard and it was my one and only favourite of this selection. On my daily ride to work and back I was listening to it, creating stage visuals and goosebumps.

However, now that I hear it in English, I am less thrilled. The lyrics don't have much meaning and the magic is lost trough translation.

What I would change about the performance:

- the wings should be spread and flap at the finale of the song.
- the visuals as if Tix were a hustler of demons should be let go completely

1. start off kneeling on the floor, humbled, barely visualized, just darkness, maybe some hint of Nordic lights.

2. progression, get up, spare light flares for the first chorus

3. for the last chorus: drop a teal-coloured "nuke", stage lit in a green and teal coloured firestorm. Tix is consumed by a lot of light.

4. When the song fades, he spreads his wings and flaps them, the visuals fades with the last notes, and an on-screen message fades in with every last drip drop. "Jesus saves" .. "us all"...

5. Audience is stunned

I hope he is reading comments all over social media and dislikes ratio. I think he can't wait that may comes to end and forgets about esc. He wanted esc, now he is on esc. Now he has to deal with it. Whole europe is mad and in shock. He is allowed to take critics from now on. I won't choose censor my opinion just because he is popular name in norway or because he has some mental issues.
He didn't want ESC, he said in an interview that he put a lot of money on KEiiNO winning. He wasn't in this to win.

Also, I don't think he gives a f*ck what you think. Or anyone else on these forums. The biggest story in Norway right now is a journalist from Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet saying he would eat Tix's headband on a bed of shattered glass from his sunglasses if Tix won (and now refusing to do it, because it was a "joke"). Even "professionals" have been bullying him in Norway, and it's sad tbh.

I'm not a fan of Fallen Angel either. I like a lot of Tix's earlier work, but the stuff he's made the last few years is really not for me. I doubt he'll qualify to the final, but all the drama in the ESC fandom now might give him some momentum actually. Everyone's gonna have an opinion, and I think that'll work in his favor. All publicity is good publicity. ;)

I would bet money on Norway this year, but Jupiter is leaving Aquarius until Eurovision, so I rather don't put money on it.

Somehow, despite TIX’s name and popularity I thought it would‘ve been obvious to the average viewer that Monument with all it’s layers and originality, had far greater ESC potential than something we’ve all seen and heard before like Fallen Angel. Such a shame that evidently that wasn’t the case and that now we’re left with something so cliché and minimal impact that’s already been done to death and that few will even remember in years to come.

I can't stop ello elling at this post. KeiiNO is the epitome of unoriginal outdated 1990's pop music by the book. They burned the Eurovision outlook of Jon-Henrik Fjällgren with their cheesy take on jolk. I am happy that the resuscitation of this trash train wreck got a big HellNO and we were all saved by the grace of a fallen angel!

Wow the meltdown last night has been great xheat

I'm honestly appalled reading some of the comments here. It's a bunch of bitterness disguised as "honest song critique". TIX won so he should face the dislikes/hate??? What the fuck does that even mean as if he did something hate worthy to earn it?

Another type of comment that struck me is the "He won thanks to his Norweigan fans, who can't vote for him in ESC". Well yeah, that's the point of the national selection contest, obviously everyone was already aware of that.

While I'm still in rant mode, I'd like to point out that while MGP '20 and '21 have been fun to watch, the automatic qualifier part I find unneeded. Just let all of them compete (you could easily swap the automatic Qs with some of the meh songs in the semis) and then do a decent second chance. And ditch the duel format pls.

As for TIX and "Fallen Angel", like I said earlier, it's not the best MGP song, but it is in no way a bad song. The chorus does have a catchy melody and I hope some of you will drop the Keiino bitterness come May to have a more objective opinion of the song.

Keiino will be fine, they're still popular and clearly have fans here to defend them till the end of time. Just because they won the televote in 2019, doesn't mean they'd do well in the televote again as there are too many factors (running order, competition, staging). Lena competed right after winning and she didn't win again. And frankly the way I see it 'Monument' would've done worse than 'Spirit' as it lacks that fun spark that I beleive won them the televote in 2019.

First of all, all publicity is not a good publicity". Let's be real.
You are contradicting yourself. He didn't want ESC but he applied on the national competition for ESC. That doesn't make any sense at All.
Last but not least, He doesn't care what i or anyone else thinks. That is good, but he depends on our votes cause Norwegians can't vote for him on esc. So it is important that he knows what public who votes and fans of Fans think about him or his song.
He doesn't care what we think? Can you answer me why he turned off comments on youtube on his Chanel for this song. I hope you will have good answers.:sneaky:

Morning everyone. I'm back!

So the dust has settled, I'm still raw and emotional (seeing the artist and song title in this thread was quite jarring for me) but I have changed my impulsive :0: vote here to a :2: for now. Again, like Spain, I doubt that TIX will stay high enough to make my personal top 10 this year, but giving the song a 0 when there aren't even ten songs chosen to rank yet is ridiculous.

While I will never understand the voting from last night, I just wanted to pick up on a few points here. Firstly, for any so-called "Eurofans" that are bullying and verbally abusing TIX for winning, they should truly be ashamed as no-one deserves that. I hope no-one has taken any of my comments as offensive or bitter - that's why I forced myself to stop commenting in this thread last night because I would've been dragged down an ugly path due to the emotions of losing my favourite group in the world (not just the "Eurovision bubble").

Music is so gloriously subjective - it allows every person the chance to find their own meaning and joy from it, but when that subjectivity turns into the cause of a vicious battle to strike down one over the other at all costs because it gained more support, even if you personally believe it wasn't deserving of the win, that's when you need to take a step back and remove yourself from that situation as people will be hurt in the crossfire. TIX doesn't deserve any hatred - heck, no-one that shares their art does, but the extreme emotional links that music can create within us sadly means that such hatred will rise to the surface every now and then.

Personally, I will be approaching this song with the same eyes as all other entries selected so far for the contest and judging it in the same way - KEiiNO cannot be an influencing factor in my ranking as they are not the ESC 2021 representative for Norway. TIX got the most support and he deserves his shot, so best of luck to him in Rotterdam.

He sent in a song, but he never expected to win. He just wanted to "touch some hearts", which he clearly did, considering the result. Maybe you don't understand it, but not everyone enters to win, I think surprisingly many just want to be part of the show.

What makes you think he wants to win Eurovision? If he ends last in the semi, I think it'll be harder for his fans to deal with, than for him.

No, I'm not in his head, so I don't know. But I'm sure he has reasons for it.

Well, he is a public figure, he wanted esc, now he has it, he should learn by now how to deal with critics and he should know that europe has different views than Norwegians on this matter and that not everyone will like his song. Wings on esc, come on it's like a bad copy paste of azerbaijan in Belgrade with wings, Demon and angel, roko blazevic, Mika Newton..
I hope those comments and dislikes will keep him grounded because those wings elevated him to the heights. This joke is hilarious.

You've made your point over multiple posts but all I can get from them is that you have a strong irrational dislike of TIX... because he dared to win a song contest? You're coming across as incredibly bitter.

He may well be aware that he puts himself on a platform for critique but a lot of what I have seen on here and social media goes far beyond simply being 'critique' and instead is quite ugly name-calling because he isn't the fan favourite.

I am changing the rating of this song from a 3 to a 5, because looking at the 10 official entries that are released, I have rated songs that I don't like higher than Tix's song even though I prefer Tix's song to them.

Comparing "Fallen Angel" with Hoobastank's "The Reason" is actually a huge compliment in my book.

Everytime i hear that song i'm like...
