What can I say?
I can't make her stay
When I know that she's so far above
How could she ever love someone like me
She's out of reach

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

She's so far out of this world
No way I could ever be with her
'Cause I know heaven's your home
That's where angels belong
And it wouldn't be fair
If I keep you down here

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able
And I need you to know
That it's okay to let me go
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Yeah I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And I'm still not sure
What you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able, so
Just let me go (I'm a, I'm a fallen angel)
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

nah Raylee will qualify to the second round, she had by far the most reactions (judging by the bubbles). Like there is only 12 acts so the running order is not that important... Final will probably be Raylee, Imerika, Keiino and Tix.. and Keiino or Tix will win, even though my favourites are Imerika and Raylee. Kinda hope that at least Keiino wins, because Tix's staging is one of the worst I've ever seen not to mention the title "Fallen Angel"..

Raylee was never a favorite.

Her running order spot makes me thinks she barely beat Daniel Owen in semifinal 2 to begin with.
no, they are trying to provoke her so she'll explode like nina kraljić.

Norway's representative in 4-5 years.

She's too good for Norway. I wish she had been Australian, that way she surely would have had more chances to make it to ESC.

For the first time in ages there are actually several songs in the final that I wouldnt mind winning.
I would be fine with several of these songs winning; Imerika, Jorn, Keiino - and I think also TIX. And what the h... I'll put in Raylee as well (because I LOVED Flashdance back in the days).
Actually I would only be devastated if Stavangerkameratene or Atle Pettersen should win (but they dont stand a chance).

Tumblr, mostly.
Kaja Rode is free to compete and win once she finds a song that doesn't sound like it has fallen off a lorry shipping conterfeit Imaani singles.

And also once she stops associating herself with people who told her forcing a 'Loreen Aesthetic' was a good thing.

And also once she stops using Britney Mics. Why are people using those things? Don't they realize it makes them look like fitness instructors or motivational speakers?

Until then, KEiiNO ftw :)

I have to agree with the top 4, it's the most sensible prediction according to popularity. I can see one of them being replaced by a surprise qualifier, however (Jorn or Blasemafian, for example).

We do NOT accept any televoting crash again, it's been a year!

As a long time admirer of your work, @BorisBubbles, I must say I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who found themselves reminded of Imaani by "Feel Again."

I'm Team Jorn on this one, anyway.

To be honest, I don't know why alot of you people are so unhappy when artists choose to sing in English. If the concern is because the English lyrics will be badly written, then sure, it could dampen the listening experience. But a good song is still a good song at the end of the day regardless which language the song is sung in. I just find it a little ridiculous when people just like the song because it's in the native language and when it was sung in English in the end then they dislike it.

1. I like me some variety, and native languages bring more of that. I like discovering / reminding myself of how other languages sound. I like Eurovision because I can appreciate other cultures, and language is always a very important part of a culture.
2. As you say yourself, lyrics in English can be (and often are) badly written, which doesn't bother me when I don't understand the original language. Plus I can have some fun guessing what means what.
3. When I do understand the language, at least I can practise it, hooray! I am surrounded by English everyday, I always welcome some change. Plus, some things can easily get lost in translation.
4. Oftentimes, artists themselves perform better when singing in their native language, they just "feel" the song more.
5. I don't really agree that a good song is a good song regardless of its lyrics. Shaj and Fall From the Sky are two absolutely different songs where Shaj is about Arilena screaming her pain and bursting in emotions, and you can understand that without necessarily knowing Albanian. Fall From the Sky has none of that for me, it is just... there.
6. Some languages just sound better to some people.
(edit) 7. If a song was originally in a native language and you liked it, changing its language feels really wrong - like when someone revamps a song you've liked already ;) More often than not, it's just a bad idea.

I agree though that liking the song "just because it's in the native language" makes little sense, but I don't think that's mostly what's going on with people.

The stories from Ut at Morket and Barndomsgater didn't resonate in Norwegian because the instrumentation fails to bring the message across. They're very mediocre songs at their very core.

TIX additionally suffers from an act that only partially delivers the self-empowerment he tries to convey. Like yes, he's an angel shackled by his Tourette demons, but the chains are never broken anyway? There's no apotheosis. The act ends where it begins and unless he manages to fix it, TIX will continue to have issues getting his message across.

So yes, Crashworld is right: Translating into English won't make any difference here from a complexity perspective. However, some songs sound better in a different language, so perhaps that is why they decided to translate.

yep agree. I don't think that all songs should be in native languages, but sometimes the native language version sounds better - I'm sure this will also be the case with Tix and was the case with many Albanian entries.

The good thing with TIX's song is that it was originally written in English (and probably Stavwhateverband also did as well?), so we can expect at least a lyrically decent song at the Grand Final.

It's just an absurd decision to register some pre-qualified songs in Norsk while promising "a diverse-sounding show", then allowing them to change language into English at the Grand Final. Stig kind of cheated with his own expectations and I find that uncomfortable.
