my top I guess:
1. Imerika - perfect entry, hope it wins, kinda doubtful it will
2. Raylee - a bop, the best performance of any act, very dynamic
3. Keiino - nice enough, will probably win, but it's kinda the same as 2019.
4. Atle - great performer, the song is quite generic, but still very enjoyable..
5. Tix - love the song, but since it will be translated in English + the staging is one of the worst...
6. Emmy - kinda like the song, staging sucks tho
7. Kaja Rode - the best vocals imo, but a very dated and uninspired song
8. Blåsemafian feat. Hazel - i enjoy her, but the instrumental breaks are too long and the performance is lowkey awkward.
9. Stavangerkameratene - nice, cozy entry, nothing special tho
10. KiiM - just no, way to cringy
11. Rein - same as KiiM

Who even cares about who advances tonight?

It's going to be a three hour long shitshow, with the same performances we saw in the heats (that's right. NO LIVE PERFORMANCES. No new staging tricks, no actual second chances. If your heat performance was terrible, then too fucking bad -- NRK).

Also, whoever qualifies will never win. The Final Vote is a pure televote, like the heats were. Whoever the Wildcard is, they may beat a couple of the auto's but they will never defeat whoever they lost to in the duel.

Tonight's show is so fucking stupid, convoluted and pointless. But we have to service the diehard fans!!1(11(...; sigh.

Of course the Wildcard can place better than whoever they lost to in the duel, if you are speaking of the first vote of the final where you vote for one of 12. In a duel, you can anti-vote, and you only have two options. In the finals on the other hand, you only vote for songs you really like. So, you can get eliminated in the semis by antivote (doesn't really have to be antivote really, just some less polarizing opponent entry) but then shine in the first round of the finals if your hardcore fanbase is strong enough.

But I agree the Wildcard is never going to win the whole thing, top 4 is the best they can possibly hope for.

Seriously though. I liked several of the 15 acts that lost, but still: they lost. Fair and square. Such is the competition they signed up for! A three hour special with no new material to merely select one is pointless for the competition itself, which begs calling into question why NRK would go through with it. My guesses are 1) Pandering to the fans 2) building fake hype for their entry (which: keiino or imerika will win and both will build hype in and of themselves) 3) raking in more televote money.

I... politely decline participating in that, thank you.

(and just ftr karsten, jorn or ane.fin can get the wildcard for me, but i'm not rly bothered either way.)
