He sings so much better than before now, much alike the studio version, but I'm not sure about the violins...

From what can be seen/heard in this video Carl Espen did a really strong vocal performance! His vocals seem much more confident now. I guess the concerts in Amsterdam and London helped him get rid of some nerves.
I really liked the background and the presentation.
I dont mind the violinists at all. I remember another fiddler doing pretty well for Norway some years ago.... even though just "pretending" to play.
Another thing is that the violinists will be less dominant on screen. I remember Margarets backing vocalists last year; they did not get a very prominent place when watching the performance on tv. I guess we dont know who SS will be presented for the viewers; it might still come through as a very simpel and stylish performance depending on the use of the cameras.
And who knows: maybe the violins will go? When Maria Haukaas Storeng did her first rehearsal in 2008 it was with two male chorists with guitars....

Silent Storm has one more fan. Tajci (Yugoslavia '90) said in an interview:

Hauntingly beautiful song! It’s artistic and well-crafted poetry is thought provoking and inspiring. The melody has both the vulnerability and power to allow Carl Espen to complete it with his own story, experience and emotion. The arrangement beautifully supports the song and the singer – I would love to hear it performed with a live string orchestra. The sudden reduction of orchestration after the final chorus works for me big time, as well as ending the song a’cappella. Great job!
For me, this song is a winner. Although it’s not a ‘typical’ Eurovision song, it’s one that will find it’s fans and make a difference in many people’s souls. Thank you Carl Espen and Josefin Winter for this gift!

And I couldn't agree more

Again, I wouldn't rely on these video bits. Reviewers on the spot aren't exactly raving mad about Espen's vocals in general. Must say I'm greatly worried :(

Loved the violinists up the hill btw!

It already looks so much better than the MGP final, which I thought was good enough to begin with. Ugh, I can't wait to see it on TV, it's going to look so amazing xrose xlove

I found this interview with ESC Kaz from today, he and Josefin do a great cover of "Hotel Yorba" :D

Why violinists? Why this platform? xgaah

Sincerely, I would have preferred a more intimate performance... Good lightning, but IMO the violinists -with this kind of dressing gown- ruin the act.

Not impressed by the first rehearsal, but still an OK entry..nth special..but far from monstrosities like: Austria, Belarus, San Marino, Ukraine..

I hate the rehearsal! Him being alone on the stage, in front of blueish blackish colours would've looked more elegant.

The song's still my fave tho, very special to me.

I´m not a fan of "Silent Storm", but unless the majority I find his performance at least ok.
But nothing really special.
