lættis = latteranfall, krampelatter, latterkule. In english: couldn't stop laughing.
Random Norwegian slang. I can see why I hadn't heard it before. The only Norwegian I know comes from knowing Swedish and watching TV3 NO.

In Melodifestivalen Danny got the same response (though for behaving much worse) from people sitting in these forums being all judgmental and stuff. I don't think your trying to see it from their perspective at all. They're also just humans.. What you say is just as thoughtless as they did after losing.
There's really no comparison between "I can't take this seriously. I'm just laughing inside." (Tooji) and "2nd place is nothing to celebrate. What the **** do I have to celebrate? Europe's missing out on the chance of seeing the superior entry! My entry would've done better in Europe than Loreen's! I've put out the greatest show in history! People have described me with the words 'Grammy hopes' and 'Justin Timberlake'!" (Danny). Tooji's probably dying inside and trying to (unsuccessfully) to hide his disappointment with jokes. Danny just up and went on an epic rant about how his number was far superior to Loreen's (like Hell it was) and how Sweden had made a huge mistake in not choosing him and giving him what was rightfully his. Also, he's kinda like Justin Timberlake and will win a Grammy any day now... or something.

@FAllenAngel: I just checked Wikipedia out of curiosity and this is what it said about Danny

Danny is an established artist in Sweden, has been praised by his Swedish colleagues and is described as humble[SUP][3][/SUP] and dedicated to his fans

The cited reference is an (unliked) interview on TV4 with Tilde de Paula. Either he said it himself or Tilde said it. And neither are known for being paragons of truth.

You have to understand that when people are disappointed with things, especially things like results, they say things that they regret and things that are not how they truly feel. I know that of all people, and it is not so easy for you to say oh he shouldnt do that, shouldnt have said this. We all have flaws in our personalities and that happens to be his.

The thing is that more than 24 hours later he released an apology that was a non-apology. It basically read "Here are a bunch of excuses for why I said what I said", "I'm sorry I said them", "I shouldn't have said all of that". Not once has he ever said that what he said was wrong or that he takes any of it back. It's a non-apology where he says he's sorry he said what he really thought, not for thinking it or that he was wrong to think it.

Poor Danny, he has to take all the heat from us Loreen lovers (= Swedish people). I guess he didn't see that coming at Melodifestivalen, being in his own bubble focusing on Charlotte Perelli. Then he has to take all the heat from us pretty boys - haters including all built-up grudge at Saade. To top it, he has also to deal with all Eurovision-haters. The only way out for Danny now would be a technically superior, musically excellence serious album to prove his status as an artist. A "Danny tolkar Cornelis Vreeswijk" type album. An economically flop perhaps but a proof of concept.

I don't know how Norway looks at Tooji, but I think he is still considered a nice guy in Sweden. He could very well participate in Swedish TV shows like Så skall det låta or Let's dance BMO.

Except he's still a piss poor singer, so "Så ska det låta" is out. And "Let's Dance" usually doesn't invite foreigners unless they're really big.

Babyguuurl, dew yo mathz n tell meh dat agayn, K plz thnx xoscar
Can you guarantee that that was 100% live? If he's so good, how come he was horrible in every single instant where we know for a fact that he sung 100% live (Melodi grand prix, Eurovision semi-final and final), even for the first few lines of the song where he remained completely stationary and didn't have "I was dancing around so much I couldn't focus on singing" excuse to lean on?

Also, speaking of piss poor pretty boy singers and how Danny's a giant douchebag:
http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/melodifestivalen/article14912548.ab

(I've already translated the archived footage, the footage shown at the beginning of the clip, so I'm only going to translate the new footage)

Danny: "Well, it's not possible to get a better result than that of Loreen's because she up and won. But I'm still completely convinced that..."
Interviewer: "Done it well?"
Danny: "No, I'm convinced that I would also have won Eurovision. Same composer, Swedish entry, same producer, a performance that's at least equally as awesome [as hers]. I mean, it was kind of Sweden's time to win. If one checks out the odds from before Melodifestivalen had finished, Sweden was already ranked #1 among the betting companies across Europe. So I think that whatever Swedish entry had been sent would've won. But of course I'm not denigrating Loreen's win in any way, she's so awesome. The song is awesome, she does it extremely well and once again I'm really glad that Sweden won and that it's Sweden that's going to get to host the contest next year."

Just a few points of contention here, Danny-boy:
* Your song was co-written by only one of the authors of "Euphoria". Norway's Tooji's "Stay" was co-written by both of the co-writers of "Amazing" who wasn't Danny. Norway ended up joint 10th in their semi-final and dead last in the final.
* Both Figge and Peter Boström had written or co-written several Melodifestivalen entries each that failed to even reach the Melodifestivalen final.
* You know why Sweden was tipped to win before Melodifestivalen even concluded? Because it was a foregone conclusion that Loreen would win. Those odds were based on her winning. Had Danny won, the odds would've changed dramatically.
* Why was it "kind of Sweden's time to win"? We came in 3rd last year and before that had a string of 18th or worse finishes, even failing to qualify for the final in 2010.
* You would not have won, end of story.

This was just him boasting about himself and how a-a-a-a-amazing he is and then backtracking a bit to not sound so pompous, egocentric and stupid by adding "And Sweden was leading the odds and we share the same composers!". I away, Danny. And you wonder why people seek you out to make fun of you. What's mind-boggling is that he said all of these things after he'd already been bombarded with people gleefully making fun of his previous statements.

I expect his die-hard fans to continue to defend him. MyHeartIsYours, don't even bother replying to me if you're going to defend him.

By the way, he just couldn't help himself. When asked about whether he took any of the things he said back right after Melodfestivalen, this was his reply:
"No, [I'm standing firmly behind my previous statements]" (a Swedish expression for "What I said before was true. I don't take any of it back")

So there you have it. His apology was a non-apology. He apologized for actually voicing his temper tantrum, not for what he said. In his mind, he was (and still is) better than Loreen, the rightful winner, his entry had better chances than Loreen at Eurovision, he's going to win a Grammy and is comparable to Justin Timberlake, etc., etc. Let's see you defend that!

I'm watching the contest again (got the DVD today, wooo!) and I don't think this deserved the last place. Okay, vocally it is as poor as Paris Hilton's brain but all in all, it's catchy and had a good choreography, which should have accounted in a higher placement!

With the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest out the way and a disappointing last place in the final for Norway, NRK has now opened the door for new entries to be submitted for next year's Melodi Grand Prix

From the 1st of July until the 1st of September song writers and artists are urged to send in their entries; as many as they like, after which a panel chosen by NRK will pick the songs that will take part in the national selection, starting in January next year.
The rules for the competition are very similar to the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest where the artist must be 16 by the date of the first Semi-Final and that the song should never have been performed or released publically before.

I loved Tooji's entry, and I really thought that it was very unfair... UK's song was worse :|
As much as I would like to support UK, I have to say that they have some of the worst songs :|

I heard the part after 0:15 on TV and I was shocked!
I was like "WTF?? They covered Tooji's song!"
Then I realized that this song is much older and it's just a coincidence that the intros are similiar.
