No it doesnt; the Winter holiday is Christmas. It should be called Christmas Spin-off in my view!

That's just a dumb post, Adam.
New Years isn't a Winter holiday? Hannukah isn't either? Chinese New Year? Diwali or Pancha Ganapati for Hindus? What about Kwanzaa?
Don't make yourself look stupid and ignorant.

Im not - my point is that the spin-off is supposed to be for Christmas songs, like we had last year, and it was Christmas songs that were all sent. If we were able to have such a spin-off last year, then I dont know why we shouldnt this year; unless political correctness has advanced so far as we're not allowed to call it Christmas anymore.
If the theme was different in that it was for all religious festivals, then I wouldnt mind the different name. But as far as I know, the original idea/suggestion was one for Christmas songs.

Well then I'M suggesting the Holiday edition, and not a Christmas version because I feel as if it is not inclusive enough. It's not about being politically correct, it's about giving everyone a chance to participate and not excluding people. So, let the two go to the voting for this month's edition. Christmas or Winter Holiday edition. But I certainly wouldn't participate in a Christmas-only contest.

^ I agree with that, they should go to a vote. I think it's pretty obvious which would win but if that's what people want I dont mind that. Personally I will participate if either of them won but I think to say that it's not inclusive or whatever is a bit silly. People from a lot of religions celebrate Christmas and if people get offended by Christmas, then Im inclined to think it's PC, and not PC for something necessary - it's not discriminating against anybody having a Christmas spin-off. For instance on FSC, Adir is Jewish, not Christian, but he doesnt have a problem with Christmas, in fact as far as I know he likes it very much!

Oh, I love ChristmasTIME a lot as well. I love the mood, the feeling, the festivities, the decorations... but I'm sure Adir will tell you just as I will that we don't believe in the actual concept of Christmas (birth of Christ...), and that's why I don't want it to be a Christmas spin-off. People of a lot of religions celebrate the gift-giving and St. Nick concept of Christmas, but not Christmas itself. ;)

You'll be surprised by the results of the poll.

If I remember right, Aleks suggested that we have 2 spin-offs occurring at the same time for December, given that we have people willing to host of course. I like the idea, what do you guys think?

Well I believe in the religious message of Christmas but I've never tried to put that upon people - I dont think that people here should be forced to like that or believe in it. I was trying to make the point that you as an Athiest (I think?) or say my family who are all Athiest, dont wake up on December 25 and say, oh yes it's the Winter Holiday, yaaay! You wake up and say oh yes it's Christmas! It doesnt have to be about religion, but the stuff that is what Christmas is about, in a non-religious sense, of course there can be Christmas hymns, etc - but why not Mariah Carey, Wham, etc? Last year I sent the theme from 'The Snowman', a British TV show, did very badly as far as I can remember but I still loved sending it! :D
And I think that Winter Holiday will win, but like I said I dont mind that, and I will participate in either. It's just I dont think that a Christmas spin-off would isolate anybody or the likes.
