A) No, they didn't. The Netherlands announced their 2025 (next year, probably around November/December again?). They prepared their JESC 2024 adventure (in November 2024) before the Joost incident happened.

B) JESC is organised by the EBU - the Dutch broadcaster taking care of the Dutch participation is AVROTROS.
So we still got the AVROTROS vs EBU situation. It's the same parties involved.
Just realize I misread delegation from multiple places, JESC has different delegation than ESC though

It's interesting to see that even though the contest's reputation declined obviously, many artists are still willing to go.

Anouk, Racoon, Davina Michelle, Tangerine, even S10 said she would do it with Froukje...
And then there's Joost who's been teasing forever, his fans say he's trolling but like why be trolling for 4 months about something? especially since he's big enough, he doesn't need such cheap marketing.

So I think Avrotros will have no problem finding a good artist for next year if they participate and Joost doesn't want to.

According to Dutch media, the talks came into fruition and the Netherlands will indeed take part in ESC 2025.
They also stated that it's likely that Joost Klein will be their entrant again.

I want to see Joost come back, not for musical reason (even though I liked his entry) or 'cause I like the guy or anything

But it would be a great way to stick it to the EBU

I don't need entries in Basel for that reason or any other than music.
This tabloid news feels kinda like testing the water, the comment section is absolutely brutal and negative towards both Joost and Eurovision. AVRO-TROS could not participate if they are listening to Dutch people?

The equation „comments in tabloid papers = Dutch people“ does not seem to be a valid one for me tbh.

Don't think I was concerned about the participation to be fair

However the steps taken by the EBU following the issues risen does show theor commitment to the demands given

Probably the most important by Avrotros was the safe space for artists

Hopefully we got rid of him forever.

Would've liked his participation to be a statement against EBU, oh well I can live without it

Said in another space but i'm happy hes not going next year. Sure in a few years, but immediately after this year and everything associated with it, i'd like 2025 to be a total clean slate if that's even possible.

oh we participate in 2025
somethings never gonna change right
"AVROTROS, together with other countries, has pushed for structural changes before and behind the scenes of the Eurovision Song Contest during and immediately after the edition in Malmö. With the package of measures that is now in place, the broadcaster is satisfied and positively looks to the future. Concrete changes have been introduced, such as:

  • appointing a safety manager in the artist environment
  • severely reducing behind-the-scenes filming
  • a 'safe space' for artists behind the scenes where they are not disturbed
  • a crisis team composed of representatives of the EBU, participating countries and the organising broadcaster, so that important decisions are taken democratically
  • appointment of Martin Green as the new director of the Eurovision Song Contest to oversee these changes"

Feels like AVROTROS using participation to push for changes, bu you will never know if any of these measures work until next year

Hopefully, they announce their act soon, so that we can leave the past behind for good. Any additional word about it is a waste, frankly speaking.

I just found this in a Eurovision group

- Anouk
- André Rieu en Emma Kok
- Bankzitters
- Ilse DeLange
- Numidia
- Tangerine
- Snollebollekes

Nevermind, it's probably fake anyway.

Or too good to be true xD
