Re: MOROCCO 2012

Again, I don't see why you think an ESC vote is a religious one. More likely, an oriental song by Turkey will be very much to the liking of a Moroccan audience.
Ottoman Empire, yeah right. But Spain and France also ruled Morocco, and may I remind you they speak French in Morocco next to Arabic ;-). Not Turkish.

But the Turkish lenguage its smilar to Arabic and and even the Turkish was Westernizated from the Arabic since 1925 and no longer wirten in the Arabic alphabet as well, but its not much the diference between both ;)

Why them Morroco don't was give up their 12 points to France or Spain in ESC 1980 instead of Turkey...??? if they are so French-speaking also..???

wow are you a Turkolog or somewhat ? Let's teach my language to myself. Who told you that ? Sorry friend but you know nothing about both Arabic and Turkish.

Let me correct the mistakes:

- Turkish was not westernized, Turkish language was tried to be Turkificated.

- Turkish is totally different with Arabic. %88 of words are Turkic origin but there are arabic-origin words as much as French-origin words. Even Western-origin words are more than arabic-origin words.

- The language was modernized in 1928.

Turkish was written in arabic alphabet but it has totally been cleared now. Arabic and other foreign influences were removed and they were replaced by newly created words ( suitably with Turkic grammar )

Yes there are still some residues from foreign languages but not much and western-origin influence is really heavier than arabic now. When you say there is not much difference with arabic, I can go mad !

Well actually Turkish and Arabic are completely different languages, they do not even belong to the same language family (Turkic - to which also belong Azeri, Turkmen, Qashkai, etc. - and Semitic, with Hebrew and Maltese, respectively).
Arabic loan words account for approximately 5% of Turkish vocabulary (to put things into perspective, 4% of Turkish vocabulary is of French origin). I do not know the proportion of Turkish loan words in Arabic (of which there are a lot of regional variations), but I suppose it decreases the more you get further from Turkey (which, for Morocco, means very far).

Turkish and Arabic are totally different grammatically and language family, even the alphabets are different but if you think they "sound" similar, it's ok. I think Hebrew and Arabic sound almost same for example. It's subjective opinion :)

There is many different dialects of Arabic as the Moroccan Arabic (Darija) contains few words from French and Spanish but much different words then the normal Arabic

Apparently, Bruno Berberes (The french head & member of the Reference Group of Eurovision) believes Morocco will be back next year.

It would be nice, if Marocco participated in 2012, but I still don´t believe it.

^Agreed. It would be cool to see them coming back but I think there's a slim chance of that happening at least for 2012.

Re: MOROCCO 2012

In that interview, he says Australia could join anytime, and also that songs don't need lyrics, that in theory, a song with three minutes of silence is completely eligible. I don't think we have to trust this interview. :D
loool. Bruno rooting for Australia? Lol, but sometimes he says wtf-ish things so I wouldn't be surprised.
Considering copyright and credits this article is trustworthy, maybe his words were perverted.... hmmm. But Morocco won't join in the near future - that's for sure.
