I can't explain it but there's something going on
A crazy energy inside of me
First just a tingle, then it turned into a burn
Like fire in my blood

And now I hear my body talk, talk, talk
A taste is all, all I need
And I'm about to climb the walls
No way I'll be alone tonight

Come over, come over
I'm over doing without you
Come over, come over
Hey lover, give me some sugar

Got me addicted, so you can't take it away
Get me all satisfied

And now I hear my body talk, talk, talk
A taste is all, all I need
And I'm about to climb the walls
No way I'll be alone tonight

Come over, come over
I'm over doing without you
Come over, come over
Hey lover, give me some sugar

Just took a little kiss to show how I was missing out
Compared to you no other [?] thing to brag about
Your lips are hot and sweet, I feel it to my knees
Now I want only one sugar, sugar on my tongue
I need your kisses baby, gotta keep 'em coming
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

Sugar

I have secretly enjoyed this song in the past few weeks and I really appreciate the effort Natalia has given in the past 1.5 years. Still, when they announced Moldova as the qualifier after such a terrible and painful performance, I felt a mixture of disappointment, hopelessness and disgust. This performance (both visually and vocally) was a disaster and a slap in the face to all of us who try explaining to our friends/family members (and maybe ourselves) that ESC is worth watching because it's not as trashy as people usually perceive it. The song itself is catchy, but the performance was worth the place of the real winners at best. It really ruined my excitement for the remaining qualifiers last night.
Harsh but spot on. I also could not believe this qualified.

I actually enjoyed it more than some other entries! And anyway not everyone who votes in ESC cares for vocals as much as you think.

Yeah I lowkey prefer Moldova in the final if the alternative was having to sit through Austria or Denmark again. At least with Moldova I am hooked to watch the trainwreck.

I can't agree about Denmark, they should have been through...

But :md: > :at:

And if we look at countries that made it to the finals from that semi

:md: > :pt: :bg:

There I said it!

I have just watched the press conference with Natalia and I have to say she comes across as very feminine and kind. Her accent in English is cute too.

I rolled my eyes when she Q-d but she is certainly one of the most likable contestants this year.

Oh ... and when the semifinal was aired our commentator mentioned that Natalia's grandmother is or was Polish, cool. I suspect that she understands some Polish too.

I am curious how many points it will get. I don't want anything bad for Natalia, but it would be kinda bittesweet if it finished deep in the bottom and Kirkorov goes mad.

I mean, the song isn't really that good (it just happened to take part in a weak semi so I think it rightfully qualified based on its competition), but it would be really nice to see Kirkorov flop. I don't want to see him anywhere near this contest ever again. The man is vile and his "music" is mostly dated kitsch.

lol people are shocked at Moldova qualifying just because she had no ice cream cones on stage, meanwhile Portugal is also there and the staging had nothing special, just some ok-ish backdrop, but nobody is complaining.
sometimes we should remind ourselves it's a SONG contest overall, yes we focus on the staging alot during the rehearsals, but a good song will always qualify no matter what.

I did not pay attention to Moldova before ESC, though I liked their frivolous song from the get go and the stupid video is just silly. You cannot hate it. However, Natalia's appearance and looks are simply infectious and she looks like the basic prototype of the dumb blond that every straight guy wants to marry. I mean, when I was watching her performance, I had all sorts of associations: Marilyn Monroe, Rennee Zellweger, Cabaret, 50's Holywood... I also remembered the Spanish fiasco called Do it for your lover, but not during that final scream. It was much more painful to endure that mid-scream Come on Europe. That sounded horrible. But all in all, Natalia deserved finals and she surely stole my heart with her looks and smiles and funny, but still chic moves. I know it will probably end among the bottom five this night, but I do not care. She is my winner this year and I will certainly fondly remember her for years to come.

PS: And I love that everyone else will remember her, even if that will be just cuz she will become a meme. Who cares? Already Madonna shared her wisdom long ago: Bad publicity is better than no publicity at all xhmmm

I don't want to risk sounding like Gianluca, but females in music are always judged different from men, men can come in the most boring outfits, look bad, stand for 3 minutes and sing the most boring dull songs that makes it sound more "exciting" to watch wallpaper dry and get away with it only because they managed to sing live (well duh, not hard considering that you don't have to move or do anything really), wheres women always have to look their best, be having good choreo, be vocally spotless etc. Portugal this year is a symbol of that really.

I can’t put into words how greatly you summarized all my impressions after watching the Portuguese performance.
We can’t be wrong because I had exactly the same impression.
