Out of curiousity why this didn't qualified if stanging was good....

It is beyond me, that song was in my top 5 that year, and I liked the staging, but I guess it just didn't connect with other people as it did with me

Actually I would not be surprised to see Malta in top 3 this year. I think it is a REALLY difficult year to predict the winner. If Malta does a good job staging this I am quite sure juries will love this, maybe even enough to put it first. The televotes will definitely no, though - but if it reaches a top 5 in televotes anything could happen.
I think this years winner will really need to stand out from the crowd.
I agree this is not my personal winner - but IF it wins, the pure fact that it's finally Malta will make me happy! And also, I have to big favourite this year myself.

We were all waiting for Destiny to bring something that could make her win, and Je me casse exceeded my expectations. What a bop. With a good performance (we all know about how good her vocals are) this could definitely win. And hey, it would be super nice to celebrate Eurovision in Malta, don't you think so? 10 points from me.

This. I get ~6th place vibes from it. Also in terms of entries with trumpets I prefer the UK (maybe because the chorus of 'Embers' seems more complete than in 'Je me casse'), but it will be good for it to escape bottom 5 after taking into consideration various aspects.

I love how music hits us differently.

For me it's the opposite... The trumpets in UK's entry I find pretty annoying tbh, while in Malta's entry i get a more sassy/retro vibe from the trumpets. But that's just how I feel.

Yup. But I am not a big fan of any of these. And yes, there is some retro vibe to Malta that is completely lacking in the UK. Trumpets rarely ever make something better for me btw. unless it is Jazz music, or something Balkan sounding, but I think those are different instruments altogether. I would be disappointed if 'Je me casse' somehow won the ESC, but I wish Destiny good luck anyway as I like her. And it seems they have put some effort into it unlike some other countries which regularly don't give a shit (UK, Spain in general).

The lyrics and attitude of this song remind me of a watered-down Toy by Netta.

I love it, but can't see it winning this year after such a similar song won with a much more quirky and interesting song, literally selling the same package only a few years ago.
