Re: MALTA 2016

I'm throwing it out there. I think the top 3 will be:

Ira Losco "Chameleon"
Jasmine "Alive"
Kim "Lighthouse"

Possibly in that order or maybe swap Kim and Jasmine

I tip Sarah Crystal to pull off a stunning upset and take the ticket to Stockholm from Ira:D

It seems like I'm the only one who has song "All around the world" as a fave of this national final. But still I cannot see it even in my top-15 in ESC. Weak selection (as always tbh :D)

I love it, it is the joint most listened to song on my itunes along with "Alive"

Re: MALTA 2016

At the moment I'm going:

1) Ira Losco – Chameleon
2) Brooke - Golden
3) Maxine – Young Love
4) Franklin – Little Love
5) Corazón – Falling Glass
6) Daniel Testa – Under the Sun

That could all change though, that order is basically just from my first listens... and a lot would depend for me on the performances at the NF!

I think Ira or Maxine would do really well generally.

I personally also like Brooke, Franklin, Corazón an Daniel Testa, but not sure if they are winners (maybe just my own taste)... big performances could make all the difference though... and if we end up with a ballad year or uptempo year!

I'll believe you that it's between these three songs, cause I have no time to listen to so much songs.

I wasn't a fan of Ira Losco in 2002, but I hope she wins, cause that's the only worthy song out of this top-3. I don't like "Alive" at all and "Lighthouse" is extremely cheesy. Anyway, I don't think "Chameleon" is any better than "Warrior", so I don't have high hopes.

BTW Deborah C - "All around the world" is much better than any of those and I think it would stand out in ESC MUCH more.

I have heard a LOT of people say "all around the world" is their favourite, it is one of my favourites too, but Deborah has had some great songs in the past and doesnt get the recognition she deserves in MESC

Edit: 2016 is her best entry though!

Re: MALTA 2016

speaking of DC, I have just been watching a few videos of her on youtube... can someone explain to me why she has some crazy Russian / Irish / German accent when singing "Satellite"

Re: MALTA 2016

How on Earth can anyone have Russian, Irish and German accent AT THE SAME TIME?

haha I have no idea but Debora certainly gives it a good go singing that lol

I was just listening to that and that is NOT her accent at all haha

Trying to pull of Lena's quirky delivery but sounding like a mish-mash of accents:D

Re: MALTA 2016

Finally gotten through a couple of listens of the songs and I think I'll have to back either Kingdom or Chameleon. I feel like my favourites for this year's Maltese NF are clearer than they have been in previous years - for the last couple of years I ended up with 4-5 songs that I kinda liked, and no clear favourite between them; whereas this time I don't like as many but I'm more impressed by the ones I do like. I'm probably tending more towards Kingdom at the moment, but with a good enough performance and a good match-up against other songs (eg. if Kingdom were to end up in ESC against another ballad-heavy year), either one seems to have a good shot at cracking the top 10.

I don't think she'll win, it seems like the stage has been set so to speak for Ira Losco but I will be rooting for Deborah C and her wonderful song.

Ira Losco will win.
She has 2 songs whereas the others have only one.

She has 2 songs whereas the others have only one.

She can only have 1 song in the final, so even if she wins the semi with one and ends second with the other, whichever ended 2nd will be eliminated and the song that ended 15th will make the final instead
