Someone said :ch: was Mumford&Sons-wannabe, but I get a clearer M&S vibe here  there are moments when it sounds like I Will Wait
That said, I like it :D

Juries screwed us up, now I hope they will make up for it and help us in May!! Yes, I'm serious... this only finished fifth in the televote so it's clear the public don't want it to represent us!!

12 points from me too!
I thought the male singer looked familiar but then i realized it was Richard, it's so amazing, he tried real hard in the past, i still love "Look at me now".
Finally he made it

Out of the seven songs selected, five are actually good. That's nearly as many in total as last year…

…and this is one of them. Perhaps this doesn't sound like Malta, rather a roadtrip in the American Midwest on a lonely highway under the scorching sun, but I don't really mind, because this is a good song. The last half minute really sticks and leaves a good feeling, and even though we already have Sebalter this year, I happily welcome Firelight.

Musically, the song is simple, but it grows throughout the three minutes, which is crucial. Mumford&Sons already did it… Someone will probably find a M&S song this is a copy of, but right now, I'm just enjoying it for what it is.

I didn't actually watch Malta's NF, so what did the Maltese public want to send to ESC rather than this?

What a boring song. At least the singer doesn't look like a monkey this time. 2 pts.

Well this was totally unexpected...
Although it was not my favorite, it's quite melodical and catchy and it's growing on me.

However their voting system is ridiculous.

People who like Mumford and Sons (specifically I Will Wait) will probably like this. I'm not one of them, though. I find the song pleasant enough, but it doesn't excite me. It's inoffensive. It will be interesting how this fares in semi 2 against Sebalter. They might cancel each other out.

What mainly catches my attention is the second line. I swear he sings "electrify my hole". Probably it should be "whole," but either way...

This is not a bad choice for Malta. My guess is that Malta will be found in the final this year. The song is not bad, and the vocals are pretty good. Quite catchy, and happy. And it's a good piece of work. Many people like this kind of music, although I would not expect it to do too well in the fan-polls.
Having said this, I am not so fond of this genre of music myself. So even though I can see (hear) the qualities of the song, it will probably not be high on my personal list this year.
I will give it a 5 for now. I think...

I completely agree. The song that got the most points from the televote ("Hypnotica") finished last with the juries receiving just 2 ponts. It completely stood no chances, considering the televote just counts for 1/7th of the votes. It's totally ridiculous in my opinion!

8 points. It's a very nice bluegrass (in the vein of Mumford & Sons, as one person put it) song, which is kind of unexpected coming from a country in the Mediterranean, so Malta gets points for at least trying something different. The song does the job with good lyrics and good, if not slightly better, instrumentals. Although now after listening to the song, I remember "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons, so take what you will out of that.

Well, thank god for maltese juries.
I'm sending them the best wishes, hugs, smooches and chocolate cookies as a way to say thank you, guys

Unnassuming, rustic, catchy, beautifully sung....loved it. I've given it 10 points as just think it's a quality song. Not a winner mind, isn't as 'wow' as it could be but I think it could chart in the UK. Especially with artists like Mumford & Sons, Gary Barlow etc... good job Malta!

I'll give this a 6 because although I'm not a country music fan, this one in particular is something I will enjoy in the long run, but then again, it won't do it for me.

My verdict: We'll be seeing Malta in the final again. Hell, Gianluca made it, so might as well.
