I have recently seen "Joker" twice and all I have to say is that the movie is a true masterpiece. I don't know if "love" is the appropriate verb for the bathroom scene, but I literally felt awkward, unpleasant and frightened while watching it. Joaquin Phoenix is a serious Oscar contender in the Oscars Best Actor race.

Left me a bit undecided... A feeling that I get every time a watch a film by Christophe Honoré...

In the best traditions of French comedy. My friends recommended this movie and I've finally watched it.
Haven't had so much positive emotions & laughs in a while
A straight homophobic coach was sent to train a weak gay water polo team for Gay Games in Croatia, as a punishment.

Watched upon a suggestion by a friend, and I gotta say that was the worst movie I watched since last year. It could be really a nice drama but the way it is portrayed is just plain boring.

I will have watched 100 movies by the end of December, and then I will decide my top 5 movies I watched this year only. I might be coming to rant.

Almost seen all of these (except the ones you actually recommend lol) and can say agree pretty much completely on every single one of these statements. Some were trash, some fun, nothing much that's 'life changing' which pretty much is how you can summarise the movie industry in general right now, but seeing how much we agree on the other movies I'll take a look at your recommended ones.

Midsommar_Quad_TEASER-1308x872.jpg

Oh boy, oh boy. Ari Aster did it again. I can not believe it. I adored his debut, Hereditary. That crazy horror film stayed with me a long time after I watched it. His second film Midsommar was even more a nuts experience. I had tears of I don't know what by the end of it. It was such a depraved, awkward and yet utterly beautiful experience. I really was super shook by it all. This absolutely isn't going to be for everyone. You'll need a crazy stomach to begin with as things get wild, but if you're up for a shocking time in Sweden then please try this out. It's a beautiful, flowery, sun-kissed nightmare. You won't find anything else quite like it.
