KAOS 1 (Kamandé Alpha-Omega Society) dances the whole night through...

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT
UNDER A VIOLET MOON

Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night, two wonderful artists' names put together to form Blackmore's Night in 1997. Their popularity and talent is undeniable: 7 albums and 13 years later, the duo has visited numerous countries and brought their unique sound of medieval folk rock into the ears of millions of listeners.

The song Under a Violet Moon, taken from their 1999 album of the same name, is a tribute to medieval life at night, between dances, songs and gathering of people who have one thing in common: the will to cherish the life they have.

Raise your hats and your glasses too for Blackmore's Night in NSC 72!

KAOS 1 (Kamandé Alpha-Omega Society) puts Norse mythology in the spotlight...

HEL
MÖRKER

Hel is a duo formed by sisters Ulrica and Malin Petterson from Eskilstuna, Södermanland (South-East Sweden). They specialize in the field of vikingarock music, a rock music genre taking its themes from 19th century Viking romanticism. Even though vikingarock is sometimes linked with white supremacy, therefore considered racist, it should be noted that most lyrics come from ancient texts and old legends that have nothing to do with our modern society.

Hel has released four albums from 1999 to 2003 and broke up in 2004. Some years later, in 2008, the two lead singers went on to form Tales of Origin which released their first album called Through Virgin Eyes. The song Mörker comes Hel's first album, Valkyriors dom, from 1999.

Lycka till Kamandé och Hel till Nation Song Contest 73!

KAOS 1 (Kamandé Alpha-Omega Society) is prepared...

JEREMY IRONS
BE PREPARED

From the 1994's Disney masterpiece, The Lion King, comes the song of the unforgettable villain. Be prepared is Scar's terrifying theme composed by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice, in association with the marvellous voice talent of Jeremy Irons.

Simba's uncle is planning to eliminate the king of the jungle, Mufasa, his own brother, in the same way Claudius got rid of King Hamlet in Shakespeare's famous play. His army of hyenas is ready to attack and Scar is more than ready to take the place he always wanted.

We know it sounds sordid, but you'll be rewarded, if you lead Kamandé to victory in NSC 74!

The Lion King is one of my favorite movies ever, has got so many memories from it. It just had everything, including an epic soundtrack out of which this was one of my favorite songs. Great great choice! :D

It's my second favorite Disney movie (after The Beauty and the Beast), but Be Prepared is my all-time favorite Disney song. It's just... so... epic! :D

Re: - KAMANDÉ - (NSC 74) No king! No king! La-la-la-la-la-laaa!

I would like to announce the withdrawal of Kamandé from the Nation Song Contest. After 18 editions of sending new and original sounds to the contest, I think I had enough fun and would like to move to something else.

I've always considered NSC to be a fun internet game, but I simply don't have time for this anymore. I am currently writing a novel, playing in 2 plays and a third one that I wrote is currently being rehearsed for February 2012. On top of that, working in street theater and having artistic career management classes 5 times a week, I have to devote my entire time to my passion and career, which has had quite a success recently! Haha! :D

It's been a torture to vote in the last semi final. I had to give a whole hour to do it and I consider this a waste of time. Better leave the game than forcing myself to listen to the whole thing. I will surely check now-and-then for new songs in the contest, some countries have been sending very interesting pieces of music since my beginnings. But I don't have anymore time or interest in choosing songs, listening to 30 more of them, and voting, and stuff, and stuff, and stuff.

Have fun guys! I'll be checking you from time to time. It's been a pleasure to be seen as an innovative country, even though I had more than awful results.

See ya! :D

Re: - KAMANDÉ - Withdrawing without drama. ;)

Firstly, it'd be sad to see you go as you ARE an innovative country! Although I don't always like the songs you enter, I appreciate that you put a lot of effort into finding a song no one else would know and you always bring something different to the table. I think that's awesome and what NSC is all about :D Don't get me wrong though, some of those Quebecois folk songs you entered I still listen to to this day xheart Secondly, congratulations on your theatre and good luck on your novel! I realised that when people leave I always seem happy when some other people are like "ohhh :( :( :( DON'T LEAVE" but that isn't the case... I just feel that NSC is a game we play for fun and even though you will be missed, there is definitely a bright future ahead of you in your career and I look forward to hearing how it works out for you and perhaps your return to the contest in the future :D Don't forget to keep updated us on how it's going!!

Au revoir et bonne chance!

Thank you very much. :) NSC is a great way to discover new genres of music and I'm surely not missing that part of the game. I will still be around here listening to some songs! :)

Awww. :( It was nice to listen to your entries (although I haven't voted for many of them ), but I still have ''Under A Violet Moon'' on my iPod (and am ashamed for giving it only 2 pts -.-). Good luck with your career and in life generally. :)

Well if this is the last of Orovoda and Kamande, then goodbye. I wish you all the best in your career. My favourite Orovoda entry would be the song you sent while I hosted, Que te queria. My favourite Kamande entry would be the song by Arkona. And I also liked your last entry, so I am glad that I gave you points for your last song.

Oh, sad to see that you withdraw, in seven contests i vote so far, you was five times in my points, not high, but you was in.

But, if i'm honest... it is a bittersweet thing for me as a wl-country
