I doubt the will ever return. I doubt the BBC will touch the brand because it's a child competition, and I doubt ITV are the slightest bit interested. The only way the BBC would pick it up is if it loses it's competitive side imo. Basically same for Denmark.

It's a nonsense, withdrawing from contests only because of a bad result is never a valid reason, and RAI certainly doesn't act like that.

Actually the Australian friend is right. I think we are there for the third time only 'cause it's in Malta again and there is a great relationship between RAI and PBS. I doubt we will see Italy in the JESC in 2017.

Unless Malta wins, Which I doubt will happen. I also wonder what other countries will withdraw.

I would worry about this year now. The official deadline is only 3 weeks away and there are only 9 confirmed countries. I bet they will postpone that deadline to the end of August.

They always do that, last year we got the final list of countries in autumn.
