Slightly concerning that another month has passed, and still no news

I wonder if Malta has a problem with finding a venue where to host the contest, I read somewhere that the one they used in 2014 is no longer available.

Interesting changes, the event will now take place on a Sunday afternoon, I can't remember any Eurovision events taking place on a Sunday in recent years.

The last time was in 1962..

They are hunting for new countries and broadcasters with this change, that's for sure.

I'm not sure about these changes. Junior Eurovision was already on a couple of hours earlier than regular ESC and wasn't really a bad time for children. Maybe it could have been another hour earlier for the Eastern European countries, but that hasn't been a big problem for them up to now.

Sunday afternoon, by comparison, is just a bad time for television. The kids won't be in bed, but does that mean they'll be watching JESC?

I have no idea how multiple venues is going to work either. I think it's going to look and feel very different to a normal Eurovision show.

MCC has a capacity of less than 2000... looks like they are making it more of a TV show than a concert

Maybe there isn't any bigger place to host the event?

They could host in quite a few places, I doubt all would be booked at this point. Ta' Qali stadium would have been my bet but I think that would be a bit too big for JESC

So it's no more 15-year-olds in the contest. The new age limit is 9-14.

That is a surprising change, it might be with the earlier start time that many countries won't broadcast the contest live?

Hopefully not, who is interested in a contest that is not live nowadays? It's 2016, not 1974.

I think this is just one way to persuade more countries to the contest, "you don't even have to arrange the televoting"...
