Hopefully it stays on youtube but if you run into trouble then Vimeo is a great solution. I was having youtube troubles with my NF recap videos so I went to Vimeo and they have not taken any down yet.

I'm curious to hear your next song. On paper this chap perhaps doesn't sound like my kind of thing but i'll certainly be keeping an open mind. Having said that though, "kitschy funk, silly disco" could be something for me One thing I do love is your passion here. You're putting a crazy amount of love into this game and that's awesome I enjoy reading your posts. Hope this edition goes better for you, although certainly you had a debut to be proud of. SO CLOSE darn it!

Thanks for the encouragement! My YouTube upload from just earlier has already been taken down, so I'm going to try uploading to a bunch of different sites over the next few days, Vimeo included. Australian internet means it takes around three hours to upload to each one, though, so... it's a slow process.

Let me just say - I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but when I was considering who might enjoy this entry, you were one of a few specific people that came to mind! I could be wrong, of course, but after getting into your good books with my debut entry, I'm hoping I'll keep my 'Rainy seal of approval' for at least this next edition

So I ended up sending Disco Star! There isn't exactly much of a deep meaning for me to talk about here, but it's a fantastic ball of fun and I had a great time working on the subtitles and stuff, so I'm glad I chose to send it. I can't actually claim credit for finding the song myself, though - a family member who's a huge Arashi fan showed me some performances from their live tour of their 2014 album The Digitalian, including this solo from band member Masaki Aiba. While it's not exactly Arashi's usual style, the performance fits Aiba perfectly, and I loved the energy, the lyrics, the cheese and the beautiful, beautiful dancing since that first time I saw it. It popped back into my head when I was considering my entries for this edition, I thought it'd be something great to share, and... well! Here we are. My apologies for the kinda-crappy video quality - I've got a 1080P blu-ray rip of the performance to work with, but the slow internet at my place makes HD video uploads just about impossible. Nonetheless, I think Vimeo downscaled and re-encoded my upload a little, so this alternate upload I made here should have slightly higher quality.

I'm really just sending this one for some fun, but with something I enjoy so much, I'd love to one-up my last score and make it to the final this time. I'd really appreciate any votes that could help me and Aiba boogie-woogie our way there!

Just spent the day putting together another NF for WV67, and it's my first themed one! Will upload it (very, very slowly) over the next couple of days. Look forward to six different types of hot ethnic fusion!

Hmm... they're also not in the next NF. I don't really know anything by Akiko Shikata, and my list is so long that I'll probably only be sending things I already know for the foreseeable future... so I'm not sure I'll be sending any of her stuff soon, unfortunately. Come back to a Japanese region yourself if you want to see her in WV

As for the other two - you can expect them both in future NFs at least, yeah. I don't adore Hiroyuki's stuff in the way that some people do, but he's got a cool sound and will probably pop up in an NF at some point. Yuki Kajiura is fantastic in my mind - one of my favourite composers - so yes, expect to see her sooner rather than later. Not for WV67, mind you, but she's got enough great stuff that I'll probably get onto sending it before long, either in an NF or internally.
