looking at these scores, it’s obvious how different Eurofans' tastes are from the Italian audience. everything gets judged through an Eurovision lens: generic pop gets overly praised, while any singer-songwriter track without a straight beat gets torn apart. I see way too many low scores for Lucio Corsi's song, which I think is super sweet, and ridiculously high ones for Gaia, who's just serving up another recycled, forgettable pop slop with lyrics straight out of a teenager's diary.
one artist I really think deserves credit this year is Joan Thiele. great voice, elegant sound, and a cinematic performance

Mhm. So I've listened to the performances from yesterday: nothing that really feels 10/10, but quite a few 8/10 Songs. I really like Noemi, Coma Cose, Clara, Joan & the Kolors the most.

The faves on the other hand... do nothing for me. Giorgia feels like the most average Song I have heard a Million times before, and if you want to talk vocals/voice, Noemi has her bet. With Simone, the Emotion does simply not translate for me without knowing the lyrics. It does not have the same kind of being melodic that Sobral had, at least for me, and that's why. Though I can imagine liking it much more if I could speak Italien 😅

In regards to ballads: this year Sanremo simply has stronger upbeat stuff, IMO. I would rather look to Portugal for the potential of a great ballad, or maybe even Czechia (depending on how the final Version comes out).

Some considerations.
- Simone winning wouldn't be a problem at all. Sanremo is the Italian music festival and Simone's song is an excellent exemplar of the vaste italian music heritage. To my opinion, if he wins he isn't going to Esc.
- Giorgia, in the italian music scene . is like Adele in GB. Her song is an exceptional female Italian ballad by a fantastic vocalist. Since we came back never had a female ballad. With Giorgia a top 10, maybe even more, is guaranteed. The italian language in a ballad is always a plus.
- Olly. I had high expectations about his song. Not getting that much into it and seems the juries didn't too. Low votes all around. But if he enters top 5 he could be dangerous. Saying that, in terms of ESC, he could have a decent result. He's young, somehow genuinely sexy and passionate, factors not to underestimate.
- Achille Lauro. Personally isn't my cup of tea and wouldn't be happy at all if he goes again in ESC. To my opinion bottom 5 guaranteed. His voice doesn't have that punch needed for a male italian ballad.
- Elodie. I like her song. Vocally on point, she is gorgeous and sexy.
In terms of ESC I'm not sure about it.
I also appreciated Joan Thiele, Noemi, Gaia, Rose Villain, Rkomi and Lucio Corsi.
For sure ESC isn't coming back in Italy next year. A pity because next year here in Milan will have a brand new Olympic arena with 18.000 seats 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, maybe Olympics and Eurovision in the same year are too much for us to afford, so we skip. But we'll come back next year, don't worry about that... ;););)

I decided to take my time and wait before forming a more solid opinion. Listening to the songs throughout the day allowed me to absorb them better and appreciate them more fairly. And honestly, as much as I love Sanremo, yesterday after listening to 29 Italian songs in a row, there comes a point where everything starts to feel the same—especially considering the running order and the number of ballads.

But is that really true? Absolutely not. Each song has its own identity, its own nuances, and there are truly beautiful and masterfully crafted moments in Sanremo. It was only when I listened to the Spotify (today) versions that I fully appreciated the details I had missed during the live show.

Also, after reading some opinions here, I couldn't agree more—the My Eurovision Scoreboard ranking is just awful. But maybe that's exactly why I love Sanremo so much: it’s not made for Eurovision. It’s pure. It’s authentic. Italy, never change!

Now, about this year’s edition—honestly, for me, it’s a good Sanremo. Not the best, but definitely far from the worst. In fact, I’d even say it’s better than last year’s.

But let me talk about Simone… What was that? Did Italy stop to listen? Because I know my heart did. Everything about that moment was magical. The lyrics were simply sublime.

This is not just a song. This is not just a potential Eurovision entry. This is art in its purest form. It’s raw emotion, a deeply moving tribute that, unfortunately, resonates with so many people. And even though I have never personally experienced Alzheimer’s in my close family, I felt every word, every note. Because, above all, I am human.

I understand the comparisons to Salvador Sobral, but honestly, I wouldn’t go there. This has a unique aura, a truly special kind of magic, unlike anything I’ve ever seen in Sanremo or Eurovision.

And maybe that’s why I "struggle" to see this as a Eurovision song. Is it meant for that stage? I don’t know. But what I do know is that this song made my Sanremo. It is, without a doubt, my number one. And if it goes to Eurovision, it will be my favorite of the season—the one I’ll be voting for in May’s grand final.

As for the rest, I think I need to process the songs better to make a final top.

Mary Tomb has a warm voice and the song is not bad. I was surprised by the choirs that said her name at the beginning... as if we were facing Aretha Franklin... 🤔

If Damiano is singing Lucio Dalla he is destroying him. Damiano must sing his Rock music and that's it.
