These stagings are good, but they're aesthetically simple. If Mango approves to go to Eurovision, I'm intrigued on how Rai will stage a song as decorated as La Noia. The simplicity of their past efforts won't do it justice.

They could always bring in a dancing gorilla...

you Swedes don't realize the danger you risked, if Geolier had won you would have found Malmo invaded by Neapolitans! A scourge :-)

"Special mention for Sanremo. Regardless of the wrong winner, it was a monstrous competition. Not even ESC often manages to bring similar quality and diversity."

I'm glad that with each passing year you are understanding Sanremo and getting used to its monstrous style and schedule! Until a few years ago everything was incomprehensible to you and you didn't understand why Italians loved this show :-)

I might be the only one here, but out of the top 5 I actually preferred Geolier. I didn't listen to the songs beforehand and watched just the final last night and read some comments beforehand and based on them I expected Geolier's song to be unlistenable garbage while Angela's or Annalisa's songs masterpieces of musical composition that are being robbed - I didn't have this impression during the night.
Sadly the best songs in this year's San Remo didn't make it to the top 5.

Instead, it is you Italians who did not realize that you had been deceived. Geolier was pumped up for 4 evenings to create panic in the public and make him become a Lex Luthor. Thus Angelina's victory is less scandalous.

Pumped edition:

Annalisa: from the Fem-Power Fandom and its fans. Her song was generic at the highest level.

Angelina Mango: the recommended person and the talent show idol.

Geolier: the idol of the Neapolitans. They would be voted him on until he died.

Mahmood who was dangerous outside and inside Irama (who has been wearing the dress of the luxury loser for years now) and Ghali (with a pleasant but harmless song that would have acted as filler).

I just made sure to dot the i's. I return to meditate in the depths of hyperspace. It will take me time to digest all these disappointing ESC european representatives.

IT'S HISTORY! The final of the Sanremo Festival achieved a 74.1% share and 14,301,000 viewers.

First part at 71% and 17,200,000
Second part at 78.8% and 11,700,000

to these figures we must add the ratings from 02.00 to 02.41 am plus the digital surveys that will be released on Monday morning, even higher figures in total! What will we do without Amadeus???
It's a big problem for Rai

the end of an era!

My two No 1 in this Sanremo were actually Irama (and I didn't like his attempt before!) and Santi Francesi. Wow. "L'amore in bocca" was incredible! ❤️ I hope that Angelina will accept (does she have doubts?) because I don't want G. to be your representant!
I loved Santi Francesi too.
They are so good. I love their sound
I hope they ll return and who knows maybe win.
The press agreed that Amore in bocca is an excellent song but not a first time listen and this fact didn't help.
You know mauve the most important thing is to enter in this incredible mechanism, Sanremo, and leave good sensations.
Look at La Rappresentante di Lista, They didn't even entered in top 5 with Ciao Ciao or Amare but have become well known and established artists.

By the way, the opening of Clara's Diamanti Grezzi and Filip Balos' Duga Je Noc is using thr same sample. Such a cool sample by the way.

Victory of the talent show public mixed with an important name that gave the right sprint. If Angelina Mango had been called Lorenza Fragola with "La Noia" she would never have won. Precisely this year I expect the usual love and tranquility of the european fandom for Italy which coincides with a non-competitive song, which we can easily get tired of and motivate the fader, which can reflect three results: Emma's failure, the medium Michielin's scoreboard or Nina Zilli's low Top 10. She overcame discrimination. Because it's been years since men (who actually brought better songs and deserved it) got hate. Finally Italy has its woman, a charismatic but immature woman who sings with the cacophonous accents of trappers. It has never been seen in the history of intellectual discography that a song by a newcomer is chosen over one that is conquering Spotify. Now I sit on the bank patiently like a Chinaman. At the end of the Eurovision Song Contest we see who was right: whoever clouded reason by claiming that Angelina is the Mahmood of 2019 or me. With the only difference that I don't care if Italy finishes last while the individual in question will be less arrogant from next year 😂

Special mention for Sanremo. Regardless of the wrong winner, it was a monstrous competition. Not even ESC often manages to bring similar quality and diversity.

My posts in the Italy Thread end. See you again in May.

Angelina Is not really a newcomer. In Sanremo, yes, but she was already well established. She was the most listened woman in Italy behind only Annalisa and Elodie in 2023. Her songs "Ci pensiamo domani" and "Che t'o dico a fa'" were everywere on the radios last summer and autumn.

Very happy with the result, I love La noia!

Geolier's televote though. :ROFLMAO: Is this cause for uproar in Italy? I know for a fact it would be in Germany LOL, and we all know what happened in Europe last year with Cha Cha Cha vs Tatto

Apparently Angelina has confirmed in an interview that she will do Eurovision:

Can anyone translate what she said exactly?

It’s a good song but it’s the :it: entry I’m the least hyped about since 2014 I‘d say. It sounds too Latino/ reaggeton-ish in my opinion. But still she’s singing and presenting the song very well.

I guess I’ll give :7: points in the poll.

I wish you a surprise win in the Eurovision Song Contest, Ajeje. I pray that Angelina is your Måns, that she manages to become one of the mediocre winners of the contest.

Once again we thank the juries! :)

The only time they messed up was in Norway this year but even there I think Stig purposely selected the jurors that would like Keiino.
