Apparently Angelina has confirmed in an interview that she will do Eurovision:

Can anyone translate what she said exactly?

Interviewer: "Angelina, we did it!"
Angelina: "I can't believe it. It was unexpected. I was already happy when I saw the public happy after I've been singing. This is something huge and I still have to process it."
I: "You have hugged Geolier and the other top 5 artists."
A: "I'm a fan of the people next to me on the stage and it felt so strange to be amongst them. So, I'm really grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with them."
I: "What did you think when Amadeus and Fiorello said your name."
A: "I thought that it was a dream or that I didn't understand. I couldn't believe it."
I: "Eurovision."
A: "Eurovision. It's like a bomb. Now I must realize that I will go to Eurovision and I'm really proud to represent Italy."
I: "We are proud too, to have you representing italian music. Whom do you dedicate this victory to?"
A: "I'd like to dedicate it to all the people I love. Luckly they are a lot, and I love them a lot. My mother, my brother, my public."

Victory of the talent show public mixed with an important name that gave the right sprint. If Angelina Mango had been called Lorenza Fragola with "La Noia" she would never have won. Precisely this year I expect the usual love and tranquility of the european fandom for Italy which coincides with a non-competitive song, which we can easily get tired of and motivate the fader, which can reflect three results: Emma's failure, the medium Michielin's scoreboard or Nina Zilli's low Top 10. She overcame discrimination. Because it's been years since men (who actually brought better songs and deserved it) got hate. Finally Italy has its woman, a charismatic but immature woman who sings with the cacophonous accents of trappers. It has never been seen in the history of intellectual discography that a song by a newcomer is chosen over one that is conquering Spotify. Now I sit on the bank patiently like a Chinaman. At the end of the Eurovision Song Contest we see who was right: whoever clouded reason by claiming that Angelina is the Mahmood of 2019 or me. With the only difference that I don't care if Italy finishes last while the individual in question will be less arrogant from next year 😂

Special mention for Sanremo. Regardless of the wrong winner, it was a monstrous competition. Not even ESC often manages to bring similar quality and diversity.

My posts in the Italy Thread end. See you again in May.
Ciao Amore. We love you

Sanremo festival is over and I have the same feeling as when an ESC final ends. It remains my favorite NF.
Still gutted about Mahmood, I envisioned tuta gold on the Eurovision stage and all I could see was a landslide victory.

That being said, I think that Angelina has also a fair chance of a podium placement, La noia is a 3minute non-stop pleasure, it makes you wonder what will happen the next second. It sits comfortably at my 1st place at the moment.

12 pts. Angelina is amazing. Deserved winner.

Sad for Annalisa when all signs before Sanremo were showing that this was going to be her year. Hopefully she comes back in the future.

I don't understand what others see in this. Angelina is just aggressively screaming morire - sufrire - boredom - total. This inspires you? Maybe I am wrong, but this screams the least favorite Romance language entry for me this year.

If by screaming you mean switching through some rappy parts, some ballady parts and even an acappella part without losing a single note, while owning the stage than yeah, you are right...

Also, a moment of silence for Annalisa and Irama, the eternal bridesmaids. Perhaps a duet could solve the sitation?

You forgot Elodie... And I think Elodie and Annalisa should consider a duet in the next Sanremo...They will fit so well together on the stage.

Not good for top ten. More than Italy it looks Greek...

In fact there is a connection: Angelina Is from Basilicata, Basilicata was part of "Magna Graecia". Those traditional sounds are very common with Greeks, it's part of the musical heritage from those times. Italy and Greece have strong connections in art, music and culture.
