Most likely the change in format can be attributed in part to Amadeus' words. Given the numbers, there were more than 400 candidates and by the artistic director's own admission, as many as 50 songs were to be taken to the final. The difficulty was who to leave out. On the other hand, the increase in competing singers increases the number of monetary revenues. The record companies will have fought among themselves with offers to include their thoroughbred horse. Nonetheless, the sponsors who will join the Sanremo project won't be few. Each singer has his own visibility and brings with him some sponsors (a bit like what happens in football teams for footballers). Lists aside, for me, of all the choices the most sensational would be the return of Jalisse.

We should be happy and proud to have this show as a "national selection". I was surprised that most of my Italian colleagues knew Eurovision well. RAI ESC team is doing homework!

Ok ,i dont say this easily,BUT,that is the best Sanremo line up i have ever seen.Incredible really.It will take a fantastic song to win this year.I am so happy to see Alessandra Amoroso at last in the bigs and with the right song will be a televote powerhouse.
Im shocked at how good this is ,the podium will be a huge fight and it might come down to if one or two big televote hitters get on the podium how the votes split.I really cannot wait for every one of these songs over the week.

What a cast.
One of the greatest casts ever: no powerhouses (like Mengoni, Ultimo, Blanco or Elisa), just really really competitive singers.
I'd bet on Geolier: it's time for a rapper to win Sanremo

You are totally right. I don't remember such a strong line-up. And I'm happy for the great number of young prominent artists.
In the past years some acts were simply fillers without any chance to get honorable placings but this year all are contenders.

They are only interested in Melodifestivalen and talking about Loreen for the umpteenth time

Needless to say, the best song should win but I'm really hoping that it's not Il Volo or Mahmood. After returnees winning two times in a row it'd be nice to have a fresh face get the spotlight.
