Sanremo 2021: Vote for YOUR favourite!

Loro non sanno di che parlo
Voi siete sporchi, fra’, di fango
Giallo di siga’ fra le dita
Io con la siga’ camminando
Scusami, ma ci credo tanto
Che posso fare questo salto
Anche se la strada è in salita
Per questo ora mi sto allenando

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori
Vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni
Vi conviene stare zitti e buoni
Qui la gente è strana, tipo spacciatori
Troppe notti stavo chiuso fuori
Mo’ li prendo a calci, ‘sti portoni
Sguardo in alto, tipo scalatori

No

Io ho scritto pagine e pagine
Ho visto sale, poi lacrime
Questi uomini in macchina

Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
E parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cosa parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
Parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cazzo parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla

you‘re nice calling them „questionable“.
i‘d call them utterly insa e anddangerous. after all he‘s a committed Qanon-believer...

My father used to call him "singing depression" because of his lyrics and style of singing. Fortunately no one outside of right-wing and far-right circles is listening to him.

Now I'm curious, what would your favorite candidates be, Mauve?
That's the sad point. I can't give you any candidates that would impress me. German music is just so boring! You cannot compare it to Italian artists unfortunately. The only worth mentioning might be the Avanatsia, or some middle-ages rock bands as Corvus Corax or Schandmaul, but they are older artists, not young anymore. :(

OMG. Please NOT this guy. I can't stand his music at all, additionally some of his political views are very questionable, (conspiracy theories (corona), he made racist and homophobic statements, ect.).

Oooh I had no idea about that! Though I liked him for being a great interpreter of his musical style. He was unique in that respect.

Ok Rammstein then 🤣🤣🤣

Boring, really?

Though, the vocalist is a Croat 🤣

Open your eyes, open your mind
Proud like a god, don't pretend to be blind
Trapped in yourself, break out instead
Beat the machine that works in your head

Would Maneskin and Blind Channel beat this entry on ESC? Hardly IMO.

A strong recommendation to Italian friends to discover a land of Guano Apes. ;)

It saddens me to know this ... you could start your musical revolution by allowing your "no longer young" singers to represent you. Then you should entrust them with the task of discovering talent and growing your music. It is impossible that Germany has no talents to offer! You were fundamental for the music and you have to go back to having your say! 💪😎

Interesting discussion, but don´t you think there´s a better place for that?? For example the German thread?? ;)
You are right, ESC94. But it's also good to make comparisons in other threads. This can also help make new considerations. Obviously, the discourse can be moved to the German theead.

Just read in an article that Damiano hardly drinks alcohol, only in special cases, he also doesn't eat junk food and sleeps a lot because in order to be able to perform 100%, you need to be healthy, he said. If you are not in a rehab clinic, you have more time to write good songs, he added. Damiano's biggest vocal influences are Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden). xheart

He's a good guy and very mature for his age.

This is what he said in an italian interview few days ago:

«Creativity comes from a healthy mind. Trained. Polished. The brain is a machine that has to have its gears in place and drugs are just a lot of filth. Let's not fall into the stereotype of the alcoholic and drugged rock star. The message we want to spread with our music is the exaltation of man through his own freedom and how could we talk about the expression of our own self by binding ourselves to something that instead makes us dependent, slaves? The artists who have used it, such as Amy Winehouse and the club of 27, are great artists with one single discordant note. We are making a path where we put our heart and soul and we avoid whatever hinders us.»

I am very surprised! Before Damiano triumphed at ESC 2021, many compared his animal presence to many singers from Jagger to Mercury. Instead, I've always said that the "hot" and "bursting" approach of Damiano's voice reminds me a lot of Tyler. Did you know that Tyler has Italian and German origins? 😃

True! Both have the raw singing quality! Funny thing is that my most favorite vocalist is Cornell (saw him live luckily and I will always be thankful). My brother saw Aerosmith live about 5 years ago. :) I knew about Tyler having German origins, but didn't know he has also Italian origins!

I wish there would more people think the way he does. xheart
