I still think San Remo had to stay independent from Eurovision, its unique festival with own history where something other appreciated then in Eurovision. So San Remo winner might look strange and out of the place on Eurovision.
I think it wasn't right to give a ticket to San Remo winner for Eurovision, they would rather at least choose from participants who most fit

I've seen multiple people fantasising over Gabbani winning and then like a gentleman declining the ESC offer to allow someone else a chance. For some of us it's our only hope now. My money is on the other two here definitely going if they win, especially the penguin group. With Gabbani there's a little chance for a turndown I suppose as it could be a been there done that situation. Sanremo has always been the main deal for Italians. Eurovision a bonus.
