A few minutes before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, there is already a first success for Mahmood: "Soldi" won the Composer Award, the prize for the best composition, one of the three that make up the Marcel Bezençon Award, the award named after the first director-general of the EBU and established in 2002 on the initiative of Richard Herrey, member of the Herreys, winners in 1984 and Christer Bjorkman, former participant (1992) and today great head of Melodifestivalen and supervisor of the show on behalf of Israeli TV.

I am so happy. My first became first and my second became second and I am really really happy for Mahmood. Well deserved 2nd place. I really hope the contest will be taken to Italy soon. Maybe next year?

Amazing second place for Italy. It was my favourite song of the night and I'm glad both juries and televoters appreciated this masterpiece. Definitely keeping an eye on Mahmood and I just pray Italy finally gets the result they deserve in the upcoming years. (Most likely when I dislike their song lol)
