The Austrian commentator said that Italy has the most contemporary song but an unfortunate staging. I, too, think, that angry looking dudes on stage will not help trigger enough votes to win.

This song is beautiful but that staging looked indeed messy. There is a live performance on youtube on an Italian TV show and the energy was sooo much better. It is still Italy and it is the second half so I expect this to do well in televoting though.

I just came here to say I was actually very impressed by the staging. The graphics I found a feast for my eyes. I really don't think Italy are out of the race. You've got to remember this is by landslide the most heard ESC song of the year. I feel like it may just shock with the jury vote like with what happened at Sanremo.

Oh, I'm a big old Kim Woodburn fan. Adored her since How Clean Is Your House. I had her as my avatar actually for a little while after the rather unfortunate Loose Women incident. I'd show you but I unfortunately lost that avatar and many more a few weeks ago when I threw a cup of tea (accidentally) at my laptop.

I admire your Kim Woodburn avatar greatly. I feel inspired whenever I see her face.

Yeah, I've been trying to find excuses why it wouldn't win (because it won't), and couldn't really go beyond "he kind of scowls" and "his style of singing isnt 100% within conventional norms". In order words, I had to nitpick. "Soldi" is just excellent on all levels and while I don't think it can dethrone "Arcade" (especially now that Duncan has delivered what the fans wanted in spite of somewhat subpar staging), I would be VERY pleased if Italy came top five yet again.

Song-wise this is the best song in the contest and it deserves to win. This is the only song I will vote for on Saturday, but it is because of the strong song only. I don't like his live voice.

I am sure it can't win, but I hope a top 5 placement too.

The preview underwhelmed me, I still don't get the hype. And like with the Swedish entry I wonder whether reactions would be different from some if another place had entered a similar sounding song. Neither are that good.

I like they have managed to transfer the music video imagery to the staging. But the performance could do away with the dancers.
Mahmood seems to do his minimal choreography to be in time with the dancers but it look kinda forced on his part.
And also, I expect the lighting of the staging to be a little darker to match with the tone of the song and music video. More blue/red/orange colours to suit the LED backdrop.
But oh well...

I am still hopeful Mahmood can win if Duncan didn't take the win coz I feel this is the most authentic song out there in the competition.
But I would still be happy a top 3 placing.

I am absolutely sure it won’t win, despite it being by far my favorite song from this year’s contest. But top3 would be great tbh and I just hope they’re ahead of Australia, so they’re not beaten by a dreadful song with good staging.
