The Sanremo version is indeed better than de Eurovision version. But the song in Sanremo also wasn't cut yet and I like Francesco's appearance better in Sanremo. (Still my favourite that year.)
But I think sometimes songs do even better on the stage of Eurovision than on other stages, for example the Common Linnets. Or Fuego. So it's a little bit of luck and good staging what can improove the song.
For Italy this year, I can not imagine yet that this song on a big stage can do well, but I am surprised many times before!

Even if he is sick - we're still more than a week away from any performance that actually counts. So he'd probably have time to get better for the scored shows.

OK. I guess people are worried that he may not sound his best during the rehearsals hence, he may drop in the odds.
He has more than 1 week to recover, if it's just the usual minor illness like flu etc, I am sure he will be fine by the jury show + finals.

I think they said he had high fever and that he would arrive later in Tel Aviv. Other than that they haven’t said much. High fever could mean anything.

Hopefully he will recover soon. This is so sad.
