Very maybe Iceland, but I don't think there will be any withdraws.

Much ado about nothing. What we call in Germany "Sommerloch" ("silly Season"). Well, I am ready for part 2.

Re: ISRAEL 2019

all that drama was only about the deposit. kan does not have enough money to organise everything, so the drama will continue in several chapters. at the end Christer Björkman will take over again ;-)

So they filled the "Saure-Gurken-Zeit" (literally "sour cucumbers time", is there an English phrase ?) with something intriguing.;)

Thank you Israel!

Had to look it up at Leo.org. It is the same "silly Season" or "dead season". But in German it sounds more unique! (And I love saure Gurken!)

BILLIONAIRE OFFERS TO HELP STAGE EUROVISION IN ISRAEL

With no budget for production of the extravaganza yet agreed upon, Canadian-Israeli billionaire Sylvan Adams has stepped into the breach. Sources close to Adams say that immediately after Netta Barzilai won the contest last May in Lisbon, granting Israel the right to host next year's event, he expressed readiness to do everything in his power to help make the Eurovision in Israel a success.

Adams already has major experience in bringing a big international event to Israel, having brought the opening legs of the Giro d'Italia bicycle race to Israel last May - the first time that parts of the race had been held outside Europe.

There are coming the LED walls.;)

Couldn't he finance the roofing of that stadium in TA? Or is that a bit to much?i

Shas to Regev: No Eurovision work on Shabbat

MK Malchieli says Culture and Sports Minister is expected to prevent the preparations and rehearsals for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest from being held on Shabbat after she supported Katz's decision to halt construction works on weekends; Regev says, 'We will have to explain the ultra-Orthodox community that they are things beyond our decision and control.'

Re: ISRAEL 2019

Then for the next Eurovision tournament in Israel, we will bring our representative this time too, through the "Next Star" show. Talk about an addition to the judges' table and join the team alongside Harel Skaat, Israel's representative to Eurovision 2005, Shiri Maimon

I personally oppose this, that is, against the plan, I hope at least, that the next representative will be with a song in Hebrew, the time has come

https://www.timesofisrael.com/eurovision-names-jerusalem-tel-aviv-and-eilat-as-possible-host-cities/

Eurovision names Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Eilat as possible host cities.
Officials from European Broadcasting Union also open to 'out-of-the-box solutions' as contest organizers say pick to be made soon.

In Jerusalem, the officials saw the Pais Arena and in Tel Aviv visited the city’s convention center. They also heard a pitch from Eilat regarding the construction of a facility in the Red Sea port city that could host the contest

Yon Ola Sand said: "We are ready for solutions outside the box, and we have done so in the past - they just have to meet deadlines"

Jon Ola Sand diplomatic as always, but we all know he is not a fan of constructions especially built for the Song Contest.

Re: ISRAEL 2019

There is no way to host the Eurovision without rehearsals and activity held on Saturday, the European Broadcasting Union's Jon Ola Sand said upon completing a visit to Israel.

"To do the Eurovision song contest, you have to be able to work 24/7 for all the weeks - not only the production week and the rehearsal week but the weeks before when you build up the set design, when you adjust the venue," Sand, who is the EBU’s executive supervisor of Eurovision, said in an interview with Israeli public broadcaster KAN. "I regret to say there's no way Eurovision song contest can be hosted anywhere without having the possibility to work also through Saturdays. It's absolutely impossible and that's paramount for us."

Sand's interview came at the end of a several-day visit to Israel, which included stops in the three cities which submitted bids to host the Eurovision: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Eilat. But by the end of the trip, Sand said that Eilat was already out of the running.

"We discussed their proposal, which I very much appreciated because it was thinking out of the box," said Sand. "Unfortunately, we had to decline their offer because the venue they proposed didn't meet our requirements."

So the race is down to just Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the EBU is slated to announce the decision next week. Sand's comments about Saturday activity seem to indicate that Tel Aviv is the most likely option.

Sand also addressed concerns about boycott attempts against the 2019 Eurovision in Israel.

"We have had no serious talk about this, and especially not from our members ," he said. "They're all comfortable, they all believe that Israel can host this very well, they have no issues traveling here.

Re: ISRAEL 2019

So has there been any indication as to which of the two cities is likely to be chosen? Need to work out if I need to save a lot of money, or a LOT of money.
