Guys and Gals, I wholeheartedly love you for that 25-Page blockbuster of a thread. I read every Single comment and felt thoroughly entertained. In your Aisles will from now on be the Version that plays in my Head forever when thinking of Niamh.

I have not watched a recap of the performances yet, but I also think I would rather sh*t bricks than go do that after reading along here.

We Are one is decent, even if a little forgettable and cliché, but if staged and perform well it could do okay. It’s not like this Song is super promising anyway and maybe it will end up being cute like a little travel commercial on the television. And arguably, compared to a lot in this NF Season, that‘s already above average.

Ok contrary to common sense, I did after all end up watching a recap. It’s like a contest for producing the most memeable on-stage fails. Wild Youth shone brightly above everyone else, so it was definitely the right call. The Dancing of K Muni or whatever he‘s called and his entourage looked like it was from The Sims 2 and somehow that triggered a nostalgia in me that makes me think he‘s my second now? That’s not a compliment though. Just a neurological connection my brain made.

Now I know what the song reminds me of in the beginning ... it's Cher's "If I could turn back time".

O well. I slept a few hours and now it dawned on me that this chliché song is my second fave song from this early season. Gave it a 5 for now with the possibility to downgrade it later. If someone asks me for a possibility to upgrade the song, I will smash a bucket on his/her head. Thank you for listening.

Performance was good, the song is meh... Nothing new from Ireland, it seems. New year, new NQ. I give it :3: points.

I hope we'll have some decent winners in the next NF's because otherwise this year is gonna be kinda underwhelming.

This has such a Danish feeling to it and not in a good way. I can't resist a touch of Schadenfreude when I know someone is even more clueless than us at Eurovision lmao.

We are :1: (ok i can't give it only 1, we are :4:)

At this point it really seems like :ie: simply doesn't want to have success at Eurovision. They are probably the country that is the most out of touch of current, decent music for Eurovision. This year, :ie: had a slight chance of qualifying with Conolly and still they are choosing this beige, dated song. This is the perfect example for something :ie: or :de: would send to Eurovision which is already dead from beginning. Who on earth would pick up the phone and spend their money for this? :1: point from me.

No it was also quite butchered with its live performance. It was still the best choice in a field of very bad options though

On behalf of Ireland. I apologise for this mess. RTE is horrifically out of touch and just doesn't care. We have so much talent in this country, as a smaller European nation we produce some of the finest singers, artists and actors in the world but watching RTE you'd think we have the worst artistic culture in the world. Ireland has so much impact on music for its size much like Sweden but RTE don't care about Eurovision.

I hope we come last in the semi. We deserve to. RTE should see how bad they are until it finally hits them they need to modernise. Pathetic.

Look at the Oscars this year, so much irish success. I can bet if RTE had a monopoly on who gets to be an actor in ireland, we'd have eurosong standard actors haha.

It's shameful how they get around 500 to 700 songs each year submitted and they always pick 5 or 6 crap ones. There's no way in hell there wasn't way better options amongst the ones they threw away. It sickens me.

Don't worry. We Germans know what it means to suffer. And I apologise for the outcome on March 3rd in advance. 🙄

We do indeed. Songwise, it was a better NF than :de: 2017 - but these (vocal) performances I had to witness yesterday... it really should put all Irish people to shame, imo. It was the worst NF in Eurovision history.

Your entry is not a mess. I think with a great staging, it can be elevated a lot and people can actually connect with it. My personal opinion is that Wild Youth entry is amazing, yes maybe not original but that's not a problem for me. I'll vote for this several times in May. I stay with my 12 and i could see it maybe ending up in my Top 10 or around. This has a such a nostalgic vibe, reminding of happier moments in the past.

Also i think Connolly song if this was the Irish entry, would have done much worse than people expect. I liked the song at first but it's not really impactful live. It would get lost in a much stronger competition like Eurovision.
