Prior to 2016, the Irish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest was chosen annually through a national song competition called Eurosong. It was a more successful method of selecting an entry.
57,15% of the chosen entries qualified for the GF as part of the The Late Late Show national final whereas the internal selection isn't that successful: Only 25% did qualify and honestly, I think that wouldn't have qualified in 2020, either.

That said, I'm curious to find out how "Maps" sound like. Lesley seems to be a very entertaining performer.

Wow! It's waaayyyy better than last year. It gives me very "christian radio" vibes but in the best way possible

It does sound like a typical song by Lesley, but this has a little more serious tone than last year. But this is musically pretty beautiful. Must see the vid to get the full impact of it, but so far, not bad once again Ireland!

It's like a more mature and well-put version of Story of My Life. And it's definitely better.

Can't judge it yet since I missed a huge part of the song. From the first impression it sounded fuller than last year, but less memorable?
