Lesley seems like a great person, real sad for her that she didn't make it. The performance wasn't really there but I hope she isn't too harsh on herself

When I saw this performance, it reminded me of Iceland 2016 (which had such a stronger song back then) because so many unnecessary movements were going in.. it was rather distracting.
It was too much, didn't really suit the atmosphere of the song (actually, I loved the idea of the whole staging). She needed something brighter, warmer.. and her having to run, jump and do other things apart from singing didn't really help her.
Listening to her was rather exhausting, maybe?

I feel bad for Ireland not making it, tbh, because the song is quite catchy and a general public pleaser but in THAT semi, it's justified they didn't qualify.

Meh, I wouldn't say good, decent but generic as the song (and with that choice of outfit on top of it all )

But yeah, Ireland's staging was a bit messy...

They should have gone with the theme of the music video (that I think is one of the nicest videos from this year's entries). Just have a backdrop with a similar nature journey as she did in the video, but no elaborated stuff on stage...

Ireland: I'm surprised she didn't qualify as I thought the staging would be very appealing to kids but I guess the last minute of the performance was weak

I wanted Ireland to go though but after seeing the staging I understood it probably wouldn't. Firstly Leslie had been styled in a very inappropriate way, the staging was a bit childish (in a good way) and with that hair and dress they made her look like a more mature lady. I got the vibe of a mum who invaded the playground. The reveal in the end did not work at all. I was expecting it would be a wow moment like in "Zero Gravity" where they showed the sticks but here we just saw some ugly devices lying there. Instead of a climax the last part was the weakest moment. Also some moments where awkward (what was that thing where she was just turning her head in the glory hole?) and she missed a lot of ques. Finally I don't get why they didn't make a backing track with her own voice like other countries did. I don't think she sang bad but when you are running it makes sense that the vocals will be lacking volume. And of course they were in the wrong semi, they would have most likely qualified from the other one.
Eventually Ireland was too ambitious with the staging and it didn't work out. A more simplistic approach could have worked better because it is a very jury-friendly song but there were a lot of mistakes for the juries to penalize. But I do believe that ambition should be applauded and it is good for Ireland that recently they always come up with a concept in the staging . What they need is to start tailing the staging to the performer they have in hand.

Yeah, very childish performance, and her singing is definitely something that is not pleasant to ears. Shame for a nice song. But expected fail.

I always liked the props and the whole idea around the staging, making it look like a story book suited it well. That said the performance tonight was... bad, not just her vocally being one of the weakest, if not the weakest but the fact they decided to show all the ugly hidden parts of the staging when she went on the move. It really broke the immersion created at the start. It was obvious it didn't stand a chance, especially considering many of it's main competitors who were not safe at all performed well. It's a shame as I really enjoy the song, and she seems like such a great down to Earth kinda person.

Aw, I like this song and it put a smile on my face because it really felt like she gave it her all and was glad to be there. But I did hear from a lot of people that they weren't into the staging.

I actually liked her song but she seemed to be focused on what was going on on stage. she was very busy. no time to focus on the song neither for her nor for the viewers. a well-deserved nq.

There was simply too much going on on stage, especially the beginning with the forest looked very weird to me. And sorry, but in my opinion she´s simply not a good singer, some notes yesterday were very painful.

Out of all performances yesterday İreland sounded most different to studio version, like other singer was singing.

I think they tried all they could to hide her rather weak live vocal. So they put a lot of distracting things on the stage and even replaced some of her vocal with prerecorded stuff. It didn't work out in the end, but let's be real, the bookmakers never expected the song to go through.

I watched it a second time, and thought, that it could have been much more effective, if the props would have been nicer.

Those paper cuts were mostly quite sloppy.
