Maybe Hatari got some distant cousins or friends in Palestine and just wanted to greet them... if Jamala can sing about Crimea, I seriously got no issue with Hatari waving Palestine flags.

Israeli jury places Hatari in last place in the final and 16th in the semi-final. Totally based on the strength of the entry, right?

Let's not pretend that Hatari are the only ones playing politics here.

It was totally unnecessary of them to go and do that right at the end, I was pleasantly surprised up until that point that they hadn't done anything despite all the talk. I can't believe the Icelandic broadcaster let them do it, knowing full that the force the EBU would come flying down on them. I don't get why they make the protest. :? I'd be more forgiving of an actual Palestinian singer doing it, but them it was just stupid. I hope they're punished for it.

Also, with the in ear monitor dropping out for Matthías during the performance in addition to sound problems. Also, it appears Iceland had the shortest on screen time after the performance was over. It was cut straight to the next post card.

I hope they get punished. And I would ban Icelandic broadcaster from participating next year, if they knew about what they were planning to do.

I don't see a point of a drama for what they did. There is not a break of rules, thus not a punishment should be considered. They only hold a flag of a countrythat is not participating, just like Serhat did with the Turkish flag or other artist did in the past... there was not a political message written in there, just the name of the country... of course we know what they meant but sticking to the facts, there is not a fault on what they did.
Brave move, they got even more attention of the world press.

Edgy singers who hated the host country from the very start went hungry for even more attention. Shocking. Im actually surprised they played it nice during press conferences

This group is the wet dream of every SJW out there. Look at them, so brave and revolutionary. Lol.
This type of behaviour should be unaccepted. And if it happened with the consent of Iceland's own broadcasting organization, then disqualification should be a scenario to consider.

It’s not “just a flag” to someone who is at war.
As I said, I get that all of you up there don’t get it.
But with every chance u preach everyone else about tolerance, emphaty, we all understand each other and such crap.

Everything is easy on the north, I get it, everyone gets it.
But apparently nobody on the north gets that not everywhere is like that.

It's not just a flag or scarf, its what it represents and it's such a sensitive topic that they had no place to interfere on.

You HAVE to start somewhere, like in Eurovision... Freedom of Speech... Waving a flag... show others that you CARE.
They did nothing wrong.
Everything isn't easy in the north. I fight my battles everyday. And we have been doing that for a very long time. Freedom isn't for ever. You can loose it. So you better fight for it where ever you can! :geek:

Are u freakin kidding me?

Like I said, u guys have no idea about the real world.
Which is fine, and wish everyone was in that position.

Just stop pretending u know anything about...anything.

Didn't all fans drag Jamala for bringing politics into a song contest? Well I did. And this is why I don't support tonight's stunt, even though I agree with their position on this.

"It's just a scarf" should equal "Jamala only asked one very uncomfortable question", shouldn't it?

Hold on everybody, the Palestinian flag has been waved in other editions by the audience and cameraman has taken even close ups of that... so what is the problem now? Just because it offended the host country? What the official statement of a punishment would actually say? It's not that the scarf said Free Palestine or anything like that... I think Hatari thought very well what to do, not breaking the rules at all and leaving it to a free interpretation, I'm afraid KAN and EBU will just have to live with that.
