Those who followed us on our Live Stream (if you haven't, what's your problem?!?) I was vocal about my dislike of the blue backdrop vs the white one used in the NF. Some folks disagreed saying that white was too cold and the blue adds more warmth to it. To me, the shadows don't pop enough and it's a bit washed down. That being said, 99% of the viewers next week will only know about the new backdrop so I guess it doesn't really matter, but I just think it's not quite as powerful. Greta was right when she said that there were a few issues at the beginning in terms of positioning but that got better every round and at the end it looked quite good. I'm certain that it's going to look even better on Friday. I'm still a big fan of the song and fairly certain that this is going to make it. And Greta is lovely, we talked about having one thing in common: We both worked for Disney in Florida. Gosh, why do I love everyone, what's wrong with me? I'm I turning into a nice person? I hope not.

You are right, most reports on the song's rehearsal were actually quite positive, I've also noticed that.

Still, as I've always felt the song's strength to be its staging I thought Russia coming before might ruin its chances, but I'm probably wrong so don't worry. I know you love the song ;)

Also I'm not sure the heat will be on sergey or anywhere else for that matter. Voting public doesn't care about that kind of thing like we do, I believe they won't even think about it and juries will know there's no copycat anywhere apart from the unfortunate coincidence between Russia and Iceland.

OMFG! Nobody is copying no-one! Greta's and Sergey's visuals are totally different from each other. While Greta is using a shadow theater, Sergey's visuals show a totally different thing - a cosmic theme with some esoteric elements. In the end of the day, nobody will care if it's 3D mapping or LED screen or whatever.

Sergey's wings and human shapes on the screen are a complete Greta rip off, in my opinion. Only after a minute and a half start the elements from the actual 'You Are the Only One' video...

He has doing wings for years. He even has wings tattooes on his hands. You seriously don't believe that he has tattoes because of Greta Salome, right? Plus, Greta didn't invent either wings nor human shapes.

Wiwibloggs:

Iceland’s Greta Salóme arrived in Stockholm on the back of rave reviews and fan adulation. But during her first rehearsal on Tuesday, things became slightly unstuck. Over the course of three run-throughs, the “Hear Them Calling” singer repeatedly missed her cues and struggled to own the massive Globen stage. Now, RÚV are reporting that SVT’s staging is out and that the national final staging is back in.

The smoke and shadows filled routine was set to incorporate some complicated hologram technology. Greta spoke of what was to come during our post-rehearsal interview, telling us that there was content missing and that we would see more on Friday. She even hinted at a disappearing trick. This now appears to be canned. Instead, the Icelandic team will revert to the simpler staging we saw during Söngvakeppnin.

Jonathan Garðarsson, the Icelandic head of delegation, explains that the reason for the changes was down to incompatibility. The proposed staging was simply deemed inappropriate for the vision they were trying to achieve. Work is now under way on adapting the original concept for the Eurovision stage. Certain elements will be developed further or changed slightly.

I'm still convinced that this will flop hard. There's something very arduous and fake about the way she's performing, there's absolutely zero emotion, she's just doing the choreography while singing well but impersonally :/ it feels very over-rehearsed.

The song itself feels like a mess too, the first part of the chorus is just fast tempo words with an extremely light melody and like I said, with zero emotion...not to mention even the Nordic preview panels found it bland.

In a pre-rehearsals prediction game on another forum, I predicted this to finish 16th in its semifinale, only beating out Montenegro and San Marino.

Absolutely astonishing 2nd rehearsal, possibly the best we've seen of any country.

Enjoyed the rehearsal. Really professional. I don't think she can miss the final anymore. There are too many weaker acts around in the semi.

Great second rehearsal.
There is actually only little direct interaction with the background during the three minutes, so I think it looks completely different than Sweden last year and the effects are different anyway.

Sorry, but it never looked like Sweden, even though they may both be using the same technique. It looks like Russia, or maybe it's the other way around xcrazy

I never claimed that anyway but others did.
