Terrible results in Iceland. I really hope for Greta to win the whole thing. Her song is miles better than anything else in this selection, that is much weaker this year than what we're used to in Iceland.

I don't want to sound like A-lister but why would Pollapönk translate their song? xgaah

So, all the Icelandic people here, how likely is it that Pollapönk will win this? 50%? 90%?

I would say 80%, a lot of people love them for the song (that includes me), toddlers will be voting for them and other adults because of their older band named Botnleðja. But many teenagers don't want them to Copenhagen, because it's "a children's band". So it will be likely that they go to the superfinal and it just depends on the other song competing against them.

I have to disagree with you there, Greta is miles worse than all the other songs, but that's my point of view, the staging is awful, I feel like I'm watching girl toddlers singing. This happens a lot in Iceland where female singers decide to perform like they're 4 years old, Greta is a great example.

Hopefully they'll not win... there's better options...

And their "message" is just cliché, no need to be translated.

I'm not going to try to make you like Pollapönk, everyone has an opinion, but when you say that the message Pollapönk is a cliché, Greta's song and performance is a cliché, I just can't realize why so many people like this song, it's awful. And Greta would be horrible in interviews, Pollapönk would give everyone a good laugh. Gissur would be a good choice as well, actually, any song except for Greta is OK for me, but hopefully it will be Pollapönk.

I liked this comment cause i agree about Grete, but i really dislike "Von", it's even worse, so for that part of the comment you don't get like! :D

It's OK, I mainly judge my opinion on songs by if I can see them in my head, perform on the big stage in Copenhagen, that's one of many reasons why I dislike Greta's song, and on of many reasons why I like all of the other songs. But how do you mainly judge the songs?

In final I judge like this:

1. Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir - "Amor" 10/10
2. Pollapönk - "Enga fordóma" 9/10
3. F.U.N.K. "Þangað til ég dey" 7/10
4. Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir - "Lífið kviknar á ný" 6/10
5. Greta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir - "Eftir eitt lag" 3/10
6. Gissur Páll Gissurarson - "Von" 2/10

:) :) :)

I'm not sure I even mentioned Greta? xshrug

There are different type of cliché though, I don't really like political statements in songs in general... and I find things like peace, "no prejudices" etc. cheesy, I'd rather have a simple love song then.

I think Greta's is an unpretentious song, really. On the contrary, I think Pollapönk want to play the fool, because they are bored and they don't know what to do...

"Amor" has really grown on me. I think that any of "Amor", "Eftir eitt lag" or Sigríður would be good. FUNK weren't bad either.

I know that YOU didn't mention Greta, but it seems to be the fan favourite on many websites. I would love to see Pollapönk out there because they would not be blabbering all the time about stopping prejudice, they would be a lot more fun, but if they don't go to Copenhagen, then I'm happy with anyone but Greta.

I've replied to a lot of comments and if anyone feels that it's annoying, sorry. But here is my top 6:

Pollapönk 10/10
Gissur 9.8/10
Ásdís María 9/10
F.U.N.K. 8.5/10
Sigríður 8/10
Greta 0/10

These are the songs in the order and ho much I like them, as you can see, I like them all..sort of....

"Amor" is the best but it's too much for Eurovision, we can't hear such a beautiful song on that stage I think, some tastes are crap :)
