Re: ICELAND 2012
I agree with both stevan 989 & evilperson.
For some reason the song "Eilíf ást" with Herbert Guðmundsson is getting alot of attention though. I guess the reason being it's catchy at first listening, but come on, the chorus is mostly repetition of "Eilíf ást" and "Ást" which is translated as "eternal love" or "love". The lyrics are just plain bad. Between this one and Blár Opal song from the first semi then "Stattu upp" is far better IMO.
I am a fan of Magni so I know that I am not neutral (as you can see from my first post
) but I hope that him and Svenni Þór will go to the final. I love Svenni's song almost as much as Magni's song. The only flaw in Svenni's song is his "Steven Tyler" yell all of a sudden, which came out of nowhere. I don't like when something is put into a song, just to show how good the singer is (at 2.20 in the song). I felt, it didn't suit this particular song at all. I was like "what" when I first heard it....
Regarding Greta's song in this semifinal, it's not as good as "Mundu eftir mér". But I honestly think that it will be either Greta & Jónsi or Magni that will be chosen in the end, that is if Icelanders don't choose unwisely because of the sinuous rhythm of "Eilíf ást" or "Stattu upp"
Magni is great singing live so that will be in his advantage next Saturday. But honestly, Gerly, I wouldn't mind if Greta and Jónsi would represent Iceland, but if I had to choose between these two, then Magni it is
