Aldrei Segja Aldrei - stable live performance, I like it more than the studio version but it's still boring :*)

Magni + Greta Salóme, Heiða & Guðrún Árný to the final, please :p

Svenni Þór - Augun þín and Iris Lind Verudóttir - Aldrei segja aldrei were good too. But it was mixing with Hungarian nf for me, as both webcasts are opened for me :) and no freeze.

Aldrei sleppir mér
Is the best so far. Love the relaxing melody of it.

Aldrei segja aldrei
What a sweet melody Aldrei segja aldrei has. I kinda like it.

Eilif Af
Eilif Af is not really my cup of tea. Its melody is nice though. Will be in final imo.

Augun þín
Not my cup of tea. Boring as hell. Their voice is strong though.

Which he hasn't imo, and since this is not an Idol show, it's first and foremost the songs that should be important.

However the whole Idol concept has infected people's brains awell as the ESC system, so he'll probably win. The days when we searched for the best songs which in the best way currently represented us are long gone I'm afraid :( Selections have become reality shows, where only voices and personalites counts :(

I'm not saying he is bad, I just don't think he is the best, but Iceland went for the personality thing last year, so they'll probably care less about the songs this year aswell.

^ People vote for what they like (it costs money) and that might not line up with your preferences but it is what it is.

Magni?
I have nothing against to his song. Its nice to listen daily, but for ESC they need something bigger, something better. Mundu eftir mer has everything!
I'm not sure how it will be in English but I love Icelandic version.

Actually it's not really true, other factors like fame etc. counts in. If people ONLY voted for songs, results would be difference in all selection. Of course people vote for songs aswell, but not only, and it has nothing to do with "my preference", I know taste differs.

I don't dislike the song either, I just think there are better options, Mundu eftir mer being the best imo.

I don't think Mundu eftir mer will be translated to English if it wins, however I'm pretty sure Magni, Regina or the boyband will translate theirs.

I did read yesterday a interview of Greta Salome and she told that it will be a bit difficult to translate Mundu Eftir Mer to English. So, maybe it will stay in Icelandic ^^ We havent heard Icelandic in ESC for a while, or I've missed something? :D
Anyway, as I see we 2 make a MEM fanclub over here :D :D

But what I was saying, and I guess I didn't do a good job at saying it, was that perhaps famous people have the best song. Like you said, it's a matter of taste, so what you or I think should win is probably not in line with what Icelandic people prefer.

Re: ICELAND 2012

To me it should be Magni w/Hugarró, but if not him, then Greta Salome and Jónsi w/Mundu eftir mér.

Just to put my thought to the conversation regarding the Icelandic people voting for Hugarró, just because it's Magni's, they wouldn't do it if they didn't like the song, that's for sure. He has taken part 4 times in Eurovision and it was only last year that he got 2nd place. He even took part, soon after he came back from the Rockstar Supernova adventure, and got to the final, but that's it.

But, I'm sure that the Icelandic people are going to trust him well for the job of performing this great song in Baku, so that could affect their decision as well. But they would trust Greta and Jonsi for it too, so this is far from being a known factor yet.

To say that Mundu eftir mér is a better song than Hugarró is just some peoples preference, not a fact. I think Magni's song is a really strong one so that is why I will probably vote for it in the final. But there is a possibility that I will change my mind and vote for Greta and Jónsi, since the performance is a big factor here. It's not enough to have a good song in Eurovision Song Contest, you need to have a very good performance for it to grip the audience who are mostly hearing it for the first time.
