Haha good luck with that ;)

He is not bad, but you just CAN'T let a song like "Mundu eftir mér" down... we want to see that one in Baku! Kapish!? ;)

Not bad!!! He is Magni-ficent ;) But I forgive you:D

Re: ICELAND 2012

Gerly asked me if I could post an english translation of the lyrics to Mundu eftir mér. I don't like a direct translation of lyrics, there will always be something lost in the process, but I will (like in the translation of Hugarró) give you an idea of what it is about. Like Hugarró, it's about a lost love (we Icelanders are so melodramatic :p) and as I understand it, he has died and she can only see the darkness, but suddenly she see's the light again and they meet again!! So you think why do they meet again if he has died? Did she die herself? It also has some elf-spirit to it, but as you know, Icelanders believe in Elfs:lol:. But this is only how I feel the lyrics. So here it goes:

She is singing silently in the dusk
you can hear the sound of sorrow in the dark.
The one who owns her heart
is part of utopia (dreamworld).

He stares into the pitchblack
and she remember the times when everything was bright.
But she believes that love conquers all.

Later when the sun comes up again
the two soals who had to part before.
they unite again because of love.

The chorus - direct translation
Remember me,
when morning is here
when the darkness is finally over.
We become one,
nothing can change that
and I believe that there will come a day again.

She remembers the time when they met for the last time,
when the moon shined bright
He dreams of her night and day
and hopes that she will come to him sooner than later.

Later when the sun comes up again
the two soals who had to part before.
they unite again because of love.

Then the chorus is again two more times and the song is over.

I know this is far from being perfect, but at least you have some idea.....

Enjoy

Re: ICELAND 2012

After listening to all the finalists once again, I have to say that Regina is my favorite. Although I think "Mundu efter mer" will win. That one is nice as well, but I don't happen to be THAT huge fan of the song like many people are  It's good for me, but nothing more than that.

So, go Regina! :D

I'm afraid both of us will be disappointed :( Magni is the one I think will win and again Eurovision will loose a good entry (Mundu efter mer!)

Re: ICELAND 2012

^^ Magni's entry is ok, but yeah, it's much better to send "Mundu eftir mer" (even better to send Regina ). In case he wins, it would definetly not be the best choice. Far from that. I can't say it will not stand out in the semi as we don't know all the entries yet, but judging to the capacity of the song itself, it is not something that will stun the viewers or the juries.

My absolute favourite is 'Stattu upp', but i don't think that Blár Ópal are gonna win, unfortunately. :(

Will be "Mundu eftir mer", probably. I don't found it so wonderful as so many people does, but it's a decent song. Better than last year.

Oh don't be too sure, I'm fearing both Magni and the boyband might end up higher than Greta & Jonsi unfortunately...

Well, that we can agree on, almost any song would be better than what they send last year

Yeah, that's my feelings too. If they don't win It'll put me on a major downer. It's just such an obvious NF winner, like Sinplus were.

I'd like to vote for Jónsi but however from Auckland it's so impossible. I'm a fan of "í Svörtum Fötum" :) believe or not! :D But even they can win the national selevtion; Söngvakeppni Sjonvarpsins it's easy to say they cannot win the contest :( I think slow songs start with one point below..

Rumour has it that there's talk of an Icelandic boycott? Anyone else heard about it? :L

Yeah, and it's just a rumor.

Won't happen. Iceland is already in economic crisis, they won't pay a fee to enter and then pay a fine to withdraw.

Re: ICELAND 2012

Not a rumor exactly...

Paul Oscar (Iceland 1997, 2008-lyricist) wants the national broadcaster RUV to withdraw from ESC, claiming that accepting and respecting human rights should be a priority to ESC, quoting BBC article about alleged evictions and house-demolitions in Baku in order to make place for the upcoming ESC arena. Paul swore not to mention Azerbaijan during the final, which he's a co-host of.
