Because of this song I thought Conchita won't win (and because she's from Austria). It's supercatchy and by now I listen mostly to this song above all.

I'm not sure why the result is so meager, since everything seemed perfect - the staging, the rousing camerawork and of course the arousing guys. Maybe it was the vocals, because Nikos sounded far from perfect. I thought he was a great singer from the youtube videos.

Still an undeserved poor ranking.

Well, for me, the reason why it did poorly is that it's a song for radios and clubs, not for a contest. Sure the performance set fire to the stage but, meh, it was too dj-ish. Plus Greece performed between Poland and Austria that particularly drew attention.

In recent years there have been weaker songs from Greece placing much better. Though I don't inderstand the bad result, it means that Greece experience sth that other countries have experienced in abandon during the last years. Too bad for the guys but it disempowers the argument that Greece can send whatever they want and get a good result. Of course that's not consolation.....

Well I think it was first the fact that untill 2008 there was no juries. After 2009 with the juries I think that we did great cause the songs were Greek. "Rise Up" could have been send by any Balkan country xshrug

In 2008, Greece was 4th in (back up) juries.

But it just happened only at 2008... have you see again jury put us high with this kind of song?

Not only then.
Helena was also 4th in back up juries in 2005.
Also in 2001 Greece was 2nd in juries, just one point behind France.

I said in the same kind of song. Die For You is a pop ballad and Number One a pop song with tranditional parts xshrug 2008's entry was an up tempo pop song near to tsifteteli... I mean it's complitely different kind

Well, since we have juries again, Eurovision became more interesting.

And since juries give marks for the quality and the public for the entertainment factor, I guess Greece has to learn how to come up with something with more demanding. Then there'll be fine results again.

About 2005, I guess Greece couldn't have won with a jury mix voting. This year was incredibly close, there were so many great songs and Greece got only 230 points, the lowest score until 2011. Maybe Latvia or Israel could have won back then.

If it was 50/50 then,
it would be a battle between Malta,Israel and Greece.
