If Greece wants to send something dance in English, then it should not be anything with pseudo-ethno elements. I'd go for something like this:

Last year people mentioned Nicko but I said I didn't have confidence in him because he sounds more like a studio singer and I had doubts about his vocal abilities, but I've seen him enough times live on TV and these thoughts are gone. He can sing, and he can also dance. But I don't want him to go as another Sarbel with an ethnic pop song, I'd like something 100% international and modern. And he said he'd like to go to ESC. He is levels above Martakis who also wants to go to ESC and he is in similar style. Btw, "poor" Nikos, he had to make Sertab at the ESC special show of "Your face sounds familiar" xrollinglol

But my first wish is a folk ballad or an artistic song.

It would be nice to see something completely different from Greece.
I would like to see Dimitra Galani.
For friends abroad: Dimitra Galani is one of the biggest living legend artists in Greece.Next year will have 45 years in discography.
She is not a "has-been".
Her latest single, some months ago,had a big success.
She is also composing herself many of her songs.
Listen to her voice :

Yes it is going to close tonight and re-open in some months with less people.
Officially Ert has 3.000 people working there (but there are about 5.000).
Of course there are not going ALL there. The building is not THAT big to have 5.000 people.
The courses say that Government wants no more than 1.000 people in ERT.

I just heard about ERT and I'm in shock. Surely, there are many other public organisations that offer nothing and should be shut down long before ERT. It's very sad to think that we won't be seeing ERT any more, at least for the time being, and God knows what will happen to Eurovision xcry

Only ERT is member of EBU,so nobody knows WHEN the new channel will be in air and if it will be a member of EBU.

This sucks. Not just because of ESC. Every citizen has the right to have a public broadcaster as a public service, Greeks as well. Any troika/IMF/EU/whatever don't have the right to steal their public TV to the Greeks.

Europe really sucks...

The new ERT might be exceptionally accepted back to the European Broadcasting Union if the new national broadcaster forms in due time to catch up at least the crucial deadlines of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014

I'm so sorry about this surprise announcement, not only for the ESC but also because a public broadcaster needs to exist alongside private channels. I dearly hope you'll be able to present an entry at ESC 2014, Eurovision without Greece is just unthinkable
