Imho Kalomira isn't that bad. I think it's a bit like a hate-love act. Or you hate her voice & can't stand it ; Or you like her voice & songs & etc.

Re: GREECE 2012

^Cause Eleni Foureira sings worse then Kalomira.

It all depends on the songs. I'm not waiting for Foureira to sing a big dated disney ballad (thank god!) but more something up-tempo modern, then the voice doesn't need to be all wailing Mariah Carey stuff.

Re: GREECE 2012

So, we can have a national final with Foureira, Ganos, Malu and/or Aris from Greek Idol, and other potential participants that are fresh names in the music industry can be Panayotis Tsakalakos (winner of Greek Idol 2), Kim, Shaya, Stan, Kristina S. Maybe Nikki Ponte, Kostas Martakis or Tamta would like to try again!

Re: GREECE 2012

Most of the previous songs are not match with the entire style of eurovision and they can give a good shot as a an experience but i wouldnot like to see them in a contest where i am used to more slow songs...
Whatever, from the previous i can easily choose ''Ταξιδεψε με''

Re: GREECE 2012

Beyond the false and incorrect information other sites posted today regarding Greek participation in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, ERT keeps saying that the country is not withdrawing from the Baku edition although no official discussions started inside the broadcaster.

Few weeks ago while most of the ERT Eurovision team resigned, told oikotimes.com that the ERT executives will discuss Eurovision by the end of October. Now what is the difference: the remaining Eurovision team in ERT want the country to keep participating but there are government pressures and some other executives opposing to the project.

The misunderstanding with Star Channel this morning posted in websites is not true. Star Channel didn’t claim the contest but they hosted an interview with Eurovision Guru Johnny Kalimeris who said he suggested to the old Eurovision team to share costs by asking a commercial broadcaster to cover the national final organization (like Ukraine, Belarus or Germany).

There is no official interest from Star Channel, a commercial broadcaster which has also financial problems like all TV stations in Greece but ERT sources told oikotimes.com that even MAD TV and MTV Greece are interested to such a project. This post was necessary to clarify the false news some posted today.

It would be amazing if Kostas will be in Baku!
And I agree about new song. The video storyline is really sad and Kostas looks great over there...as he always do

He's not my first choice, but wouldn't it be fun if Desislava wins the Bulgarian selection and Kostas would be chosen for Greece since they made a duet together? ;)

Re: GREECE 2012

:lol::lol: Well not exactly :cool:

In fact that they said that ERT needs 300,000 Euros from which 100,000 is the EBU fee according to the source and 200,000 for the rest of the ERT expenses. I dobut so much that with the curently Greek Economic Crisis will find that money, plus the Greek head of the delegation was resigned.. this just don't does look good for the Greek Partisipation for the next year.. Its seams that Azerbaijan will have to help us if Greece wants to take part the next year, as the only alternative who i saw there :(

Re: GREECE 2012

^ I know! That's why I said "it looks like" ;) But as you read in the article the rates every year are up to 80%. Eurovision brings a lot of money to ERT so I doubt we're withdrawing.

Re: GREECE 2012

Today ERT has confirmed the news that surfaced on various blogs early yesterday morning. Ogaegreece.com reports that ERT has now started to discuss the procedure for the artist selection who will represent Greece at Eurovision 2012. The first meeting took place between leaders of ERT and representatives of record companies in the country yesterday.

ERT announced that this year’s budget for Eurovision will be set at no more than 300.000 €, which includes 100.000 € to be paid by the EBU to ERT as assistance. This means that the selected singer’s record company should contribute and assist ERT in order to support this year’s budget and the Greek participation. The next meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, which will focus on the details of the selection process.

It is worth noting that this year’s process will be without two important ladies who supported the participation of Greece in Eurovision for quite some time despite the financial difficulties it was for Greece – Litsa Piskera and Mariza Fakli. The OGAE Greece fan club hopes that their successors can prove to be as worthy as those two ladies were at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest!
