Re: GREECE 2012

and I thought that this style is rather for teeny girls than for gays
because I don't like it usually :*)

yeah, married with kids... tbh, they are the most desperate imo (lol).

I don't like it either, but it just looks "gay" to me

Haha exactly!

The greatest cliche is that every male singer who dances like that is gay. What this has to do with the sexuality of somebody? The most gay singers are actually "macho men" looking.

It's not just the dance, it's the "I look like a Ken doll with botox and lots of face cream" aswell as other things

Really? Where are those "macho men" looking gay men singers? I've yet to find any

^I was speaking generally. There is no rule that whoever is dancing like that is gay, or on the other hand whoever is a macho man looking is straight...

And Tsalikis is not like that actually. These "gay looking" singers are usually disliked by straight men, but Tsalikis has a lot of male fans that like him for his music style. He's not another Sakis or Eric Saade that only girls and gays like.

He might be ok, I don't say it's bad thing or anything, I don't judge him by it, I just find it amusing how almost all greek/cypriot male pop singers have a similar style like this :)

Anyways, has he been chosen or what?

^Hmmm.... Nothing new, just a confirmation of something we already knew about! Let's wait some more days, and I'm sure something will come out!

I'm still cheering for MELISSES!!!!!!

Re: GREECE 2012

Apparently the head of Universal Music Greece came out and said it will be a 4-5 act NF, with fresh new up and coming artists featuring multiple genres of music styles. Don't know how true this is.

With this statement, and taking into account that Eleftheria Eleftheriou just signed to the label, I bet she will be in it. I also expect to see Panagiotis Tsakalakos, winner of Greek Idol 2. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Velvet Fire. We'll see what they decide soon!

Re: GREECE 2012

The rumors are already running wild less than a day after ERT confirmed their collaboration with Universal Music!

Oikotimes claims that a NF will take place on March 5 (preliminary date) and that these are the 5 names that will participate in the NF:

1. Malou Kiriakopoulou
2. Eleftheria Eleftheriou
3. Velvet Fire
4. Panagiotis Tsakalakos
5. Christos P.

Here are videos from these artists:

On another note, I am SHOCKED at the comments Oikotimes made in another article about Eleftheria Eleftheriou. They vow to make sure she won't win if she is in an NF. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. They are still bitter over a dumb comment she made on a TV show against their site after her song was leaked in 2010.

Panagiotis Tsakalakos is the winner of Greek Pop Idol 2.(I dont like him)
Malou was 2nd at Pop Idol 2.
Eleftheria Eleftheriou is from Cyprus, was on X-factor,and disqualifying from NF 2010.
The other two artists are totally unknown to me.

Re: GREECE 2012

Eleftheria cannot win I think. It will be between Tsakalakos and Malou. Velvet Fire is very fresh, their song "Apistefta Poly" is played all the time everywhere. Not sure if they can come up with a song that can win a NF. Christos P. is quite boring for ESC, he's in the same style with Tom Dice and Paradise Oskar, so he can't be something original, and I predict that he'll come last in the NF.

I prefer Malou and Tsakalakos!

And no, Malou being another Valando is not the best idea. She's not a "ballad" singer. She's more into the pop-rock and jazzy style, it's not a good idea to have just a ballad and stand there and sing. She has to show some of her energy!

Re: GREECE 2012

Why do you think Eleftheria will not win?

I don't think she's popular enough to do it. I don't know if she has a lot of fans at all. She's a bit indifferent until now. Her only hit was "Kentro Tou Kosmou" last year, and she's got a minor hit as a featured artist with HouseTwins in the song "Never". Unlike Tsakalakos and Malou, they have fan clubs and they are quite popular.

Also, I'm pretty sure that she'll come up with a dance song in the same style of "I Don't Wanna Dance" and "Kentro Tou Kosmou", and I think in the live performance she won't have a nice presentation, just like Nikki Ponte last year. Nikki is even a very good dancer, Eleftheria is not (at least, she didn't show anything like that in XF, I don't know since then if she improved)!

Re: GREECE 2012

She hasn't had many "hits" because she hasn't released anything really. Sony neglected her to be honest, she only released the eurovision song after it was disqualified and then one more (bad) song with them. I believe she will be with an upbeat song in this years NF if the rumors are true, but you never know maybe Universal will throw us a curve ball and send her with something slower. She is a pretty good live singer after all from what I remember from XF. As for dancing, she doesn't have to be a phenomenal dancer in order to put on a nice stage show. After she was disqualified in 2010, she performed the unfinished stage show she was working on for the NF on ANT1's 10 me 1. I thought it was decent, I mean I could envision it on the big stage with a little more work.
