Καλημέρα!
Since 2010,I've been waiting for one name only to represent Greece: Michalis Hatzigiannis.
I really love him,his songs also. I believe that he has special voice, makes me affected.

^No, no, no and again NO! Since 2006, Greece has sent 3 Cypriots. I'll be very angry if this year is again a Cypriot! Nevertheless, Michalis wouldn't go to ESC unless he is internally selected.

I don't know about this guy in particular, but I think chances it will be internal selection this year for Greece is very high nevertheless.

He said he would consider a proposal by ERT, but he didn't say that he'd accept it. He made some arrogant comments about ESC in an interview 2-3 years ago, and I remember Zeta Makrypoulia (Greek tv host and actress. She hosted the Greek NF of 2006 and was the commendator of Greece the same year, she loves Eurovision anyway) deprecating him in her radio program, saying these very words (I even remember them in my ears): "Michalis Hatzigiannis forgot that his actual career in Greece started from Eurovision. Such comments reveal an attitude toward a song contest that actually helped him starting his career". The thing now is that Zeta Makrypoulia is his girlfriend, so maybe his attitude changed? Nevertheless, I don't see ERT putting that much effort to approach super stars like Hatzigiannis, Vissi, Vandi, Remos etc. They'd go for a band or someone who is in the start of his career most probably, and not an established superstar.

Re: GREECE 2012

Melisses had a lot of "blah blah" in the Cypriot NF, so this might mean something?

I don't think that has anything to do with it. They were featured heavily because they have been touring with Ivi a lot (and have a duet together) for the past few months. We will see though, you never know. ;)

I don't like this argument to be honest. All these artists had EVERY right to represent Greece. They are all based in Greece, they built their careers in Greece, and they continue to have careers in Greece. So what if they were born in Cyprus? That is not what should matter in my opinion. What should matter is the contestant's tie to the country they are participating for, and all these artists had very strong ties.

Re: GREECE 2012

But Tsalikis is not in Universal music. Or is he?

About Cypriots representing Greece, why Greece does not choose Athenians, Cretans, Thessalonians, Rhodeans, Larisseans etc to represent it? There is only an island that is independent and participates in Eurovision too, why to take singers from only there? It's like Italy picking up a singer from San Marino every year to send it to Eurovision.

^ It is not a singers' contest so why you care about that? Blame Cypriot broadcaster for choosing only Swedish songs this year.

Tsalikis is on Universal, and has been for a while. He just released a new song a few days ago. Maybe he would be in a national final, but I don't think ERT would pick him via internal selection. Besides, rumors say that ERT is saying off the record that they are going to have a National Final selection. If he plans to be in any selection, I just hope its not with a copy-cat Master Tempo/Pantzis song! Here is one of his 2011 singles:

About Greece and Cypriots, don't be bitter that they represented Greece instead of Cyprus. As I said, they have EVERY right to represent Greece from the moment they live, work, and have a career in the country. They could have easily represented Cyprus if they wanted to and if CYBC asked. Do you not remember the days when the likes of Celine Dion represented Switzerland, or Nana Mouskouri and Vicky Leandros represented Luxumborg? At least these Cypriot artists actually have a legitimate tie to the country they represented. (Greece) I didn’t want to go there since I support the entry, but many are using this same nationalist argument about the writers of the Cypriot song this year, (as cc92 pointed out) and those writers don't even have any specific ties to Cyprus. Do you agree with that? After all this is a song contest, the song is arguably more important than the singer.

Re: GREECE 2012

I thought Tsalikis was in Sony. A lot of changes in record companies recently, they confused me a lot...

I don't care if every now and then a Cypriot represents Greece (and I always support them), but if it's so often is annoying. As I didn't have a big feeling that Annet Artani and Jon Lillygreen & The Islanders were actually Cypriot representatives, although I loved our song in 2009 (at least the composer and lyricist were Cypriots both times).

What's wrong if the composer of a song is not a native, though? It's actually the same thing. Alex Papaconstantinou is the major composer of La La Love, and he's Greek-Swedish, and composed songs for many Greek and Cypriot artists. Some of his songs are big hits in Greece, like "Break Me" of Nicko, and he also composed "To Mystiko Mou Na Vris" for Ivi, and many songs for Helena Paparizou and others. And he composed "Yassou Maria" too. Since Cyprus shares the same music industry with Greece, there's no need to complain. It's like we borrowed a Greek composer this year, because most of his songs are written for Greek artists. We did this only this year. Check our previews years, and see that every year we were sending a song composed by a Cypriot, except 2007(Comme ci comme ça had Greek composer & lyricist). Other countries send a foreign production every year...

My point exactly. :D

Anyway, I wonder when ERT will finally announce their plans. This is the latest ERT has waited to announce their plans in years (since 2004 at least, when Rouvas was announced in March. But ERT was planning to send someone else before at least)

Re: GREECE 2012

Some people claim that Ert this year is not really interested for a powerfull participation in the contest,
so Greece can support Cyprus and Ivi Adamou. (dont forget Greece & Cyprys is the same nation)

The opposite was the rule for the past 7-8 years for Cypriots supporting the Greek entry and not ours, now is the other way around?!

In 2008 I was supporting Greece with all my heart and I wasn't hoping at all for Cyprus, in other years too. Last year I wasn't a fan of either our song or the Greek, but the Greek song was like it was ours too, so I was feeling again that! Actually, every year this happens, since 2004 (I was hoping for Sakis to win that year, and our 5th place was a very big and positive surprise), 2005 without any doubt I was supporting Greece and hoping for crappy Ela Ela to flop, in 2006 I was feeling that the Greek entry was the Cypriot and the Cypriot was the Greek (for obvious reasons  ), in 2007 I was cheerful for Evridiki, but when it failed to reach the final I was cheering for Sarbel, only in 2010 I was hoping for Opa to flop but it didn't, anyway! And in 2009 I wasn't a fan of This is our night, and I was angry when Cyprus failed to reach the final, but I think we had no chance with Firefly. I was supporting Armenia that year!

Who, Tsalikis? He's not gay of course. He's married and has 2 little sons...

I didn't say they actually were gay, it's more like their style, image and act always seems so clichéd gay

And being married with kids hasn't stopped people in the past

and I thought that this style is rather for teeny girls than for gays
because I don't like it usually :*) But sometimes they can produce very nice ballads, this is when they look seriously, kinda.

yeah, married with kids... tbh, they are the most desperate imo (can't get rid of one still, lol).
