Re: GREECE 2012

The national selection will include the names of Malou Kyriakopoulou, Panagiotis Tsakalakos and most likely Professional Sinnerz group.

RUMORED. Lets not forget to add RUMORED to this post for our international friends. ;) According to Oikotimes and Greek media, it looks like ERT will announced a 3-4 person NF in the next few days with artists from Universal Music since they are the only label that is willing to pay a majority of the costs ERT asked for. Top newspaper Ethnos reports that Giorgos Sabanis is also very likely, at least as a composer if not as a participant, in addition to the above names. (Panagiotis Tsakalakos, Malou Kirakopoulou, Professional Sinnerz). Also being heard are Konstantinos Argiros and Kostas Martakis.

Re: GREECE 2012

^Wow, great news! I hope this is true! The only one I don't want is Martakis. Save him for another year when the economical situation will be better, because he is able even to win, and Greece wouldn't be able to organize next year's ESC! I strongly believe this! The rest would be great, with special preference to Malou and Tsakalakos!!

In that article it says that it's not impossible to see Malou and Tsakalakos together in a duet. The name of Giorgos Sabanis there is mentioned not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter. He might write a song for the NF, without meaning that he's gonna be the performer of it! I trust his composing skills, the most songs he composed so far are among my favorites! He is able to write a rock, a pop rock, even with ethnic elements, or even a strong dance song! Most of his songs are a combination of all these styles!

Well it looks like no Giorgos Sabanis. According to Oikotimes:

"UPDATE
George Sampanis team and colleagues refuted the news already saying there will be no composition of his to the 2012 Greek national selection"

Well, please don't send another male this year please... TRT goes with 'islamic' rules and doesn't send a female cause of the woman legs.. But I can't understand why Greece tries to send a male... All the fameles from Greece was in my top 3 since 2005 :D

Kalomira was my 3rd favorite.
Helena and Anna was my 1st favorite..

But inside of that 3 singers Kalomira is my first one. I know it's confused but if Kalomira would compete in any year out of 2008 she would be my 1st favorite to win... Too bad she was in 2008 :D

I want to ask people from Europe (excepts greeks)
Would you like this song to represent my country?

No offense, but what is the point of a question like that? It is highly unlikely to happen. Sony is putting all their efforts behind Ivi this year.

It would be nice in Eurovision, but won´t happen as Greekboy said.

Re: GREECE 2012

Remembering the Summer Nights would rooooooooooock Eurovision and would be in top 3 without any doubt! But, forget about it! For obvious reasons, and the first is that Nikki Ponte belongs to Sony Music, as Greekboy said above! It would be a suicide to send two of its artists, both young females, both Cypriots, with similar songs. They'd divide the points that they'd get in two, or one would do very good and the other one would flop! And a record company would never want this! :)

CyrpiotGirl I didn't mean choosing better song is islamic. I meant TRT chooses male singers cuz of islamic rules... TRT's İbrahim Şahin already told that we won't send another female cause of Hadise's leg and naked body on the stage ;)

Isn't Universal Music the sponsor of Greece this year?

The rumor is that ERT wants the record labels to cover a majority of the costs associated with the act, and when they contacted the main record labels only Universal Music Greece was interested this year. We will know if this rumor is true soon enough.

Yeah, just like Greekboy said above, it's a rumor, but very likely to be true, because it sounds very logic. If you didn't understand my words above, I said that Sony Music Greece is already backing the Cypriot entry, because Ivi Adamou is in Sony, and it is impossible to send another artist from the same record company for another country anyway, how much more if it is a similar style artist and song!

Re: GREECE 2012

Well what I meant is that Sony Music and Universal Music are two different brands so I see no problem in Sony Music Greece backing up Ivi while Universal Music backing up a Greek entry.

This is exactly what I said too. What it was discussed above is about Nikki Ponte, who is also in Sony Music, so there is no chance to see her in ESC this year!
