Over time, things even out. Portugal did badly year after year, but then suddenly they won. Same could happen to Germany. As I recall, the latest top result for Germany came in a year when people had thought the winner of the NF was bland.I would really like to not be last place every single year, i'll take going internal for this.
The song isn’t awful and he has a great voice….but it still sounds like something that would have won from the UK’s You Decide selection back in 2018/19.
It’s kind of sad to think a decade ago we had great quality acts taking part in the German national final like Marie Marie, Keoma, Unheilig, Betty Dittrich, etc but over the years the quality has just fallen off a cliff.
Did you hear "Naiv"?3 points from me. Couldn’t be more generic.
Yes. And I preferred it over this one tbh.Did you hear "Naiv"?
Yes. And I preferred it over this one tbh.
I'm sorry but I missed an NF tonight. But I have a question.
So you have a lot of songs. Some are boring. Some are shit. Some are just not representing anything. The question is - how do you always manage to choose the worst? I mean it's not the 1st year when you can tell that's an accident, but I'm still wondering...
There's still hope. Isaak's voice is very characteristic, which could be a plus with some part of the televote. I don't think juries will ignore this song, either. It's like those radio-friendly dark pop songs that they usually receive from Azerbaijan or Switzerland. And it's also legit good.I like Isaak's song, but it will be dead last in May. Need to get over my sadness now.
You really skipped the tea talk and went directly with the knife i seeYes your profile pic had one of them![]()
I completely disagree with your third point, a nf should be representative of the music industry in each country, the problem is that in Germany that's seem to not the case and I'm not German, so I don't know exactly why that is, but the vibe I got is that the record labels have hijacked the nf as a way to promote new artists domestically, rather than what they actually should be doing, using the nf and the eurovision stage to promote well established german artists internationally. It could be coincidence. Or it could be because:
1.) It's completely different songwriters than back then
2.) The general level of pop music in the country is low these years
3.) The country has decided to only go with its own songwriters and artists
In terms of Denmark, all three criteria have played a roll the last four years, and I would imagine something similar is going on in Germany (and in Ireland etc.). However, the Germans tried to import a whole package from abroad this time - it didn't quite work.
