How the f did Max Mutzke rise from 2% to over 20% in the odds? What happened?
Let's face it - this is more realistic. The 2% were it not. I can see on Friday everything happen, but hope that a miracle happens and that we will sent Ryk.

that may be, i agree that just by his name he has bigger chances, but i was wondering why bookies just noticed that or if something else happened

On ESC Kompakr people assume that the bookies (since they are from foreign countries) weren't familiar with the name Max. I have no other explanation either ... can't be the song itself, that's for certain.

I think as far as the songs themselves are concerned (I can't assess the live singing skills of many of them), there are three in particular I don't want to see in Malmö: Floryan, NinetyNine and Max. I can somehow get along with the others, even Marie, SHOULD she sing well and do good choreo (but I don't think so). Otherwise my top 5:
  1. Ryk
  2. Bodine Monet
  3. Galant
  4. Isaak
  5. Leona

The more I listen to the songs the more I came to the conclusion that I actually don't want any song in Malmö lol
Like I'm only somewhat "rooting" for Ryk, because I think he could get a decent placement. But even that won't really be exciting, since I don't actually like to listen to his song and this whole process was so tiring again. It's just not fun.

After watching UMK, I even more realized how garbage our NF truly is and how pathetic this is. Just comparing the opening of UMK this year and "Unser Lied für Liverpool" is just... insane. I don't know if I can sit through another national embarassement again. We pay ARD to give us quality content and they lack behind countries like Lithuania and Latvia who have like not even half of their funding. ARDs budget is almost equal to Moldova's GDP!!! Can you fucking imagine?! And THAT is what we get for a show? This is so frustrating.

Why? We will be bottom 5 with most of the songs, but in my eyes her song is at least better than most of the others. Rather her than Max or Marie.

Ryk has Top10 Potential and Marie at least brings some Personality.
But Bodine is Levia/Annsophie 2.0

I really can't see how Ryk's "Top 10" potential.
I'm team @I bims - when I listened to the songs for the very first time, I thought it was a lacklustre but decent line-up with a few songs I could potentially hear again but now - apart from Marie and Galant because they're in German and kinda "funny" - I don't feel passionate about any of the entries. I haven't heard "Katze" or "Naiv" for more than a week, I can't finish the songs by Ryk, Max or Floryan - Isaak's entry only sounds decent as part of the recap and Bondine and Leona are so effing boring (even though their entries might be decent).

Also, knowing the "new" voting rules and how they ask former participants who finished Bottom 5 in previous ESC editions to rank our entries make me hate the NF even more.

If we're lucky we'll be getting "Naiv" and finally a song in German (but it's not happening because of the international juries).
If we're lucky we'll be getting Max (highly likely) so that we can get a few nice articles about a "well-established name to represent us" before he finishes Bottom 5 in Malmö.
If we're lucky we'll be getting Ryk and the hardcore fans will be happy and can be dreaming of winning the jury voting in May (but we will be getting disappointed in May once again because I can't see Ryk getting a Top 15 result at all, imo)

All in all, we're doomed.
This NF is only "nice" for some stats (finally getting a song in German after 17 (!!!!!!!!) years) or getting the first "returning artist" after Lena (and some "hype" because Lena gave us 2 Top 10's results and press and the general public will expect the same from Max) or getting our first "openly LGTBQ+" entry (Ryk).

But none of these songs are competitive. If Ryk gets selected, all entries will finish Bottom 5 in televoting in May.

I really absolutely hate NDR for doing this to us - again. 2023 brought us some light but we're in the 2015-2017, 2018-2022 phases again.
