Nope, it's a catchy Schlager song - one of the most popular genres in Germany.
You don't have to like it, though.
Ryk's entry might be getting tons of jury points (who knows, I don't think so, tbh) and it might be a well-crafted ballad (people seem to genuinely like it) but do people in Germany really listen to these musical-like falsetto ballads in English giving ghey twink vibes?
I think it's even more "ESC bubble"-ish and ESC-tailored than other entries in our NF.
Isaak's entry, at least, gives me TV talent show on RTL or Sat1 vibes.
"Katze" would be alright, too - if you want to go all mad and nuts at a Berlin lounge at 2 am sipping martinis?
Apart from these three entries, I don't think this NF is very "German", though - I think that we got a better representation and more diversity/variety last year .
+ We will definitely getting some Swedish or Norwegian or Danish songwriting camp reject from that "Ich will zum ESC" wildcard thingy after they pulled of their lip-syncing challenge and performing 90 seconds of well-known hits of the last 3 decades
It's not as bad as the
NF but I'm missing the "aspects of German music market/culture" representation this year.
At least, very few songs tick these boxes (even though I know they aren't the best ones of their genres they try to represent).
