German jury this year

Absolutely fantastic choice of people!

We've got three musicians:
- one "ethno"/Schlager
- one indie-pop artist
- one rapper

and two people who work as professionals behind the scenes:
- one radio boss of one of the biggest radio stations in Germany (WDR2, WDR4)
- a publisher/who worked for a record company

I think it's important to get a balanced jury for Eurovision since we got so many different genres and styles on stage.

Every time a country decides to just ask former Eurovision participants or people above 50/60 to rank the songs, I'm furious.

Its an easy task for juries to have a bottom15 consisting of :ee::il::nl::ie::hr::sl::rs::fi::no::at::es::ua::ge::am::gr:
Im more and more worried, that he will do surprisingly well, like 70 Jurypoints and 15 Televotes (from :ch::at::is::lu:)

I actually doubt by now that Isaak will receive much Jury Points ... there are too many well-done entrys and performances. Doubt that Isaak will make it into the top 10 with the Juries. And televotes? Doubt that either tbh.

I dont see him in the Jury-Top10, but I can imagine several individual Jurors having him in their Top10.

Mooooooonaaaaaaa

As for Isaak: apparently his voice was strained in the jury show. Given his voice is the only reason to give points.... well, I have still zero idea about what will happen.

Where did you hear that?
I thought he was straining his voice all the time in the SF too but it still sounded fine enough... i'd normally pick this to get 40-50 jury filler points. There really is a lot some jurors might discard immediately this year...

From people reporting from the jury show. Nobody said it sounded bad, but that his voice sounded more strained than before, or something like that.

I pray Germany doesn't end up dead last this year. Isaak is a very sweet person, competent singer and "radio friendly" in Eurovision isn't automatically bad (just look at the 2017 edition).

Eurovision.de (9 People) predict the following potential Winner:

(The Guy who said :ie:, initially said :nl:)

Best of luck to ISAAK. I like the staging and his powerful singing. The selected song is not exactly my musical taste, but you have to admit his performance is better than most of the acts Germany sent in the recent years and it's authentic and fitting as the song is written by himself. I respect that. It's not one of the front-runners tonight, but I think we can be proud of him. (y)

I wish ISAAK all the best, too. I don't like the song and I certainly don't like the process Germany goes about selecting their song these days, but the artist seems friendly enough and I can acknowledge that he brings a good voice and stage presence to the table.
I sincerly hope I will experience him at some point with a song less forgettable.

I cross my fingers for him that he shall be spared from the bottom three. May he enjoy the experience and make some lasting connections with the other artists and the many professionals involved in putting such a huge show on the road.

I find it funny that every year on German television they discuss if Germany could WIN (!), even on the day of the final. And afterwards they are totally surprised about ending up at the bottom of the score board.

I think there is a bunch of people in germany who need tomsay a big fat „sorry“ to Isaak!

Well deserved placing, I always believed in him!

I congratulate him for the results (even though I agree more with the televoters) but I still don´t like the song and won´t follow his path after the ESC.
