Sad probably budget cuts ... but at least we had "Ich will zum ESC" right?
I hope that it rather hints that NDR will hand over its responsibility to another broadcaster next year. It really looks like they don't care about ESC anymore. I am not certain if another broadcaster would do it better (like MDR - I don't trust them), but it can't get worser, so it would be worth a try.

It's perfect black humour to me to see NDR/ARD cut the only good cotent they actually made. Especially if it was really to make room for the utter disaster that was IWZE.

Just completely resignated by now. The songchecks were the only good thing NDR ever made. I think I might have enjoyed watching the song checks more than actual Eurovision in some years? Like when they did the songchecks in the pandemic year, this was genuinely a nice replacement for me. Incredible they just throw away a format like that after more than 10 years... Sure, budget cuts and all, but they certainly know how to spend the remaining budget on garbage...

NDR killing all the joy concerning Eurovision visualised.

I can do without Broder since his behaviour in 2022, but Stefan and Alina are such a fun pair and the only shining light (along with the occasional Consi) our broadcaster has currently going for them. Being a German ESC fan is such a frustrating experience  Nobody asked for "Ich will zum ESC", but the song checks were generally well-received and many were looking forward to those, no? Another example of NDR's fabulous & flawless decision-making xlove

What? No 2nd semi on German TV? Hat's der ARD ganz den Vogel rausgehaut?

This is really weird tho, bcs didn't the semis have good viewing numbers too? Like.... it's one thing being completely incompetent regarding our own entry and having given up on that. But just not taking the viewing numbers they basically get for free? This is so ridiculous. Even for ARD standards....

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to NDR. It's like a sinking ship. I would love a clean cut after this season. But it may also happen that NDR stays. Then we are done. For good.I would feel a little sorry for Isaak, but I hope we come last place again.

It's so stupid to not show it on ONE since they already paid the participation fee anyway and viewing figures for the semi finals slightly increased over the years (if I'm not mistaken).

Personally, I don't care anyway since I watch the official live stream anyway but it speaks volume how NDR/:de: treats Eurovision right now.

I hope we're finishing last again to seal the deal.

It's indeed a bit silly that they don't broadcast it on TV when it's already been paid for, but I also don't see the huge fuss about it. It's just one semi and there's still the live stream (which can also be viewed on most TVs nowadays). So... eh? It's not like the semis gathered great public interest in the pastxshrug

No. Last Year only 0.62 Mio People have watched Semi 2. Semi 1 was even lower.
Still vastly better then "Ich will zum ESC" tho xshrug and still already paid for with the entrance fee, again compared to IWZE. But with it being a mistake, it's cleared up anyway.

Thats not enough for me. I want the Double Zero.
I too but more likely than not this is not going to happen given the jury love it got in the NF and also the Luxemburgish telly vote we have now. Even the mere 'record' I do not consider safe yet as I can easily see ::gb (and even :es:) challenging :de: for the last place.
